We used to build around 20,000 affordable co-op and nonprofit homes in Canada every year. Due to federal and provincial government cuts, we've built a fraction of that since 1995. Greens are calling on the Ford government to fund affordable homes, especially with the federal government getting back into affordable housing – so we can have thousands of affordable homes like the 20-unit building @BeyondHousingWR is working on in Kitchener.

Please join us on November 20 for our annual Louis Riel Day program. Each year on November 16 we commemorate the life and work of Louis Riel, a revered Métis leader and visionary. This is also an opportunity to celebrate Métis culture and to continue our collective journey of reconciliation with the Métis people. This program will feature a moderated discussion between Métis knowledge holder, Tony Belcourt, and historian Dr. Harry Huskins. They will explore the roots of Métis governance structures and the legal and political realities which shaped them. Details and RSVP: LSO.ca/events

We pause to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the profound legacy of Residential & Day Schools. Supporting Indigenous students means recognizing the painful history the educational system is built on. 🧡 We honour Survivors, those who never came home, and those carrying generational impacts. Reconciliation is an everyday commitment. Learn, reflect, and remember. #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay

It's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to reflect on the dark history and inter-generational impact the Residential School system in Canada had and continues to have on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
