According to a research report by the National Institutes on Drug Abuse, “multiple national population surveys have found that about half of those who experience a mental illness during their lives will also experience a substance use disorder (SUD) and vice versa*.”
These comorbidities play a role in making every patient’s recovery journey unique. Our Guiding Principle to “focus on patient needs to drive decisions,” means we support the patient's journey from treatment and recovery by providing education, new scientific understanding, and knowledge to the treatment community.
