When has Questlove and his team got in contact with Rashad & Aaliyah’s mother or even the Haughton family’s lawyer from Aaliyah’s estate? Also, how do we know for sure if Questlove is in fact working on the documentary? It may just be an idea hoping to come into fruition? 🤔

@datyger927 @holyguacaca There's an Aaliyah doc in the works per Questlove & his team. Apparently, the issue/holdup is with Blackground. Her estate (Mom & Bro) are on board. So hopefully, it gets worked out & happens. 🙏🏾🤞🏾🙏🏾🤞🏾🙏🏾

@CreeLuv314 Whenever you do see and speak with Questlove again, we recommend/hope that you ask him when has he spoken with the Haughton family or more importantly, Rashad. He’s on social media and he catches wind of conversations like this on here from fans like us. We just gotta be mindful.

@InductAaliyah But man his reaction to my Aaliyah question! Wish I video'd that! During the panel conversation, him & Jimmy Jam mentioned officially to the audience what upcoming projects they were working on. I think I recorded that part. He said the Earth Wind & Fire doc & another doc, too.

@CreeLuv314 If he is working on a documentary for Aaliyah, we welcome it but we want to be certain that it is in fact in the works and it’s going to come out. This would be HUGE for her legacy if/when executed properly.

@InductAaliyah He said he was working on it for about 7 years now. I met Questlove at the Emmy's FYC event for Sly Lives Burden of Black Genuis & asked him specifically if he could work on making an Aaliyah documentary. He was super nice & we had a brief conversation about it.
