india used to be a country of sensible voices & empathetic people but under modi theyve grown so hateful. would rather watch the world burn than let pakistan mediate a CF. our politicians have ruined the economy yes, but modi has corrupted the indian mind for generations to come

Half the world grew up seeing Bangladeshi train photos labeled as India. That was the original internet propaganda.

Field Marshal Manekshaw, the last giant of shared British Indian military history and someone whose unparalleled conduct has always inspired me: a soldier of the FF Regt, a veteran of the Waziristan Campaign, a qualified intrepreter of Pashto (complementing his command over 5 other languages), a coursemate of two future Pakistani and Burmese Chiefs (Gen. Musa and Gen. Dun), SO (along with Gen. Yahya) to the WWII-winning Field Marshal Auchinleck, a 9-times shot WWII veteran, the boxing partner of another Pakistani Chief (Gen. Tikka), and of course, the gracious victor of '71. Despite leading an infantry brigade against Pakistan in '48 and winning in '71, he maintained affinity with his unit, 4/12 FF, and his regiment - both of which joined the Pakistan Army. He even nominated Capt. Ahsan Malik - for the stout defence of Kamalpur - to the Pakistani COAS for a gallantry award. India's saffronized military of today could learn a great deal from his grace.
