A reminder, all solid waste, heavy trash items and recycling pick-up will be on a Tuesday-Saturday slide schedule due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Contractors are racing into 500 weekend by finishing up a strip-patching job on the southbound lanes of Franklin Road between Southport Road and the Johnson County line. Workers drilled 2-inches into the concrete, removed the worn pavement and applied a fresh layer of asphalt.

Here is the contrast between the southbound and northbound lanes of Franklin Road. Contractors applied a new layer of asphalt to the southbound lanes. Workers drill down about 2-inches then remove the old pavement, clean it off then put down the new asphalt.

Contractors anticipate strip-patching Mass Avenue between Delaware and Davidson streets on May 28 and 29. Work will begin at 4:00 a.m. each day and conclude in the early afternoon hours. There will be temporary lane and parking restrictions in the work zone.

Contractors are putting the finishing touches on a strip-patching job along McGaughey Road from Southeastern Avenue to Post Road. They began the job Friday, but had to postpone applying new asphalt due to inclement weather.

Contractors are active in Franklin Township this week. They finished strip-patching job on Northeastern Avenue from Franklin Road to Southeastern Avenue. Workers drilled down about 4-inches, removed the worn pavement and replaced it with a new layer of asphalt.

The project will also improve pedestrian accessibility with 24 new crosswalks, 37 ADA-compliant ramps, more than 1,300 linear feet of new sidewalks, and updated curb infrastructure.

$5 million of new infrastructure will be installed on Bluff Road starting this month! Indy DPW will install 11 lane miles of new roadway to address deteriorating pavement and improve travel conditions on Indy’s south side.

A rainy start to the day isn't enough to stop our contractors. They were able to drill down two inches deep into worn pavement on McGauhey Road from Southeastern Avenue to Post Road. Workers removed the rubble and weather permitting they will apply a fresh layer of asphalt.

These are crucial upgrades to critical infrastructure while improving drainage performance, roadway conditions, and pedestrian accessibility throughout the neighborhood.

The project also rehabilitated approximately 1,300 linear feet of sidewalks and installed new ADA-compliant ramps to improve pedestrian accessibility throughout the community. Subsurface drainage systems were added to help prevent waterlogging and oversaturated soil conditions.

Nearly two-lane miles of new asphalt were poured as part of the completed Dr. Andrew J. Brown & Keystone Avenue Drainage Improvements project on Indy’s near northside.
