About dark last night, making my last pass with the plow for the night, wanted to cut a dead furrow into a waterway before I quit for the night. Realize water was already seeping into the previous furrow. 1586 stops dead in it's tracks. Couldn't raise the plow quick enough.

@dane_berggren @JohnCokToastin He's pretty much correct. Use them when under a load. Free-wheeling is essentially what takes them out. I will use mine on the road, but only when I'm braking hard enough to bog the engine a little. I like Oliver's too, but only have a little 1550.

@Infarmerbradley @JohnCokToastin After talking to my Red till he's dead neighbor, they need to have a "in case of emergency only" sticker on them or something I grew up on Oliver's and Whites where you can use the over/under anytime you want, on the road, in the field, he said that's what takes out TAs I guess

@dane_berggren @JohnCokToastin In my 40 years, we've never had to replace a TA. My 1586 is a factory TA delete. 986 has worked fine for the last 6 years I've had it. Not sure dad has ever replaced the one in his 656 either.

@dane_berggren @JohnCokToastin 😂 I'll give you that the hydraulics could be better. I keep the cab foam in decent shape and a good floor mat makes a big difference in sound. In my 986 I went a step further and put sound deadener in it too. Everything I have has a 436 in it though.

@Infarmerbradley @JohnCokToastin Terrible hydraulics and enough cab noise to make Helen Keller lose her mind! Don't even start on the hand clutch But that 466 was a damn good engine, everything else was trash lol

Wife just called me, she was moving her truck in the driveway and ran over our little white Westie. RIP Chief, you were an amazing little puppy that was very disciplined and fun to be around for only 9 months old. Oakley and I will miss you and will keep an eye on the cows in your honor.

@CattleMafia Yep, I'll find a deal eventually. I bought a 1586 back in 2009 or 2010 at a local auction, but for my uncle's. It was a pretty good deal, wish I'd have kept it myself lol.

@Infarmerbradley Don't do marketplace, go to farm sales, I got a 4840 for 5k last month and runs great. Road it 50 miles home. Already pulling a feed wagon. Got the second one for a little more. Keep looking you'll find a good deal.

@the_birdfarmer It looked like you were kind of in the same boat as me needing another one. I currently only have one setup to moldboard plow with, I need another big one with duals to disc.

@Storm5farms @DanielCam84 Both my 86's have been that way. They both need proper paint jobs, but I've spent a lot of time trying to clean up what's there. 1586 got a partial paint job 10 or so years ago.

@Infarmerbradley @DanielCam84 That was my 4430. Not sure if it had been in a shed ever and it looked like it even after it had been repainted by someone at one time.

@Storm5farms @DanielCam84 There's one nearby that I have been interested in, but the guy hasn't been ready to let go of it. At least not in the price range that I think it should be. It hasn't seen the inside of a shed much in the last 20 years. That's sort of my specialty lol
