On Nov 25, @UN_Women🇨🇳 hosted our annual #16Days of activism commemoration event, themed “Towards #Beijing30: UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls", in Beijing. Together, we lit up a #SolidarityTree, symbolizing unity, hope & strength to support survivors of #GBV.

Elimination of gender based violence is our top priority. Not just during the #16DaysOfActivism but every day. Together we MUST tackle the root causes and stop the violence. Our embassy 🇮🇸🇪🇪 will be orange to represent the future - free of violence.

Pleasure to spend the start of 16 Days of Activism with @unwomenchina, grassroots organization and the women who prepared the #BeijingPlatformofAction almost 30 years ago - that is still today the blueprint for all declarations for gender equality.

Emergency responders swiftly evacuated Grindavík and the Blue Lagoon last night following the year’s seventh volcanic eruption, the tenth since March 2021. Effects are localised to the eruption site and all services in Iceland are operating as usual, including air traffic.
