I agree & can't believe I've heard women deride the statement as negating her achievement. There is nothing wrong w acknowledging the support of your husband. Cherie is blessed to have this. No one gets there by themselves. IMO her loving credit to her husband does not lessen her accomplishment. It magnifies it, and what marriage should be.

This is beautiful. Cherie DeVaux credits her husband for helping her become the first woman to train a Kentucky Derby winner. “I have to say an immense amount of gratitude to my husband, who stood behind me.” Marriage isn’t a burden, it can unleash your fullest potential.

The real guardians of the track: the outriders at Churchill Downs. Calm in chaos, protecting horse & human —Derby weekend and every single day. They deserve far more credit than they get.

The current Kentucky Derby favorite is a horse named Renegade… so I fully expect the entire city of Pittsburgh to be pulling for this horse At the final stretch I’m gonna be yelling It’s thiiiiiiirrrrrrdddd dahhhhnnnn

Check out the hind end of Derby horse Great White! He is the largest horse in the race at 17.2 hands (5'10" at the withers and weighs over 1300 lbs!). Pavlovian is actually in front of him, and you can't even see him. Historically, he could be the tallest horse to ever run in the Kentucky Derby.
