@markoneill122no @MiguelDelaney Done. A good owner should create an environment where the incentives reward positive behaviours/ outcomes. Brighton and Tottenham are perfect case studies. One prioritises sustainability and sporting success, the other, profit. Profit should be a consequence not the main goal.

As part of my PhD into football club ownership regulation and how it aligns with the fan perception of ownership, I am asking football fans of all types what they think makes a good football owner. If you are a football fan, then please take 5 mins to complete my survey through the link below app.onlinesurveys.jisc.ac.uk/s/westminster/… Please also share with others so we can get as many responses as possible Thank you!

Football clubs optimise for their real objective, not what fans want. If the root rule is profit, the incentives become wage control, cautious transfers and risk avoidance. The behaviours follow the incentives. The league table eventually reflects the behaviours.

Shambolic defeat isn’t on Nuno. West Ham are one of many teams in the Premier League reaping the consequences of horrible recruitment and firing managers they should have kept. Raked in huge amounts for Declan Rice and Mohammed Kudus, wasted that money on overpriced replacements lacking the leadership, quality and consistency to improve the team. Potter was never good enough to replace Moyes, the man who delivered a first European trophy in decades - and Nuno, as a result, has inherited a mess. But he is good enough to lead them out of this mess, if they go for broke and bring in quality in this window.

🚨🔵 Chelsea will appoint new manager very soon, not gonna take weeks or long time. The club is now working on it. Liam Rosenior, highly rated internally after excellent job at Strasbourg as he’s among contenders. Decision to be made in days, won’t take long. 👀

Why this outcome was inevitable. Enzo Maresca says the last 48 hours were the worst since joining. Then goes quiet. Then offers reassurance. Chelsea stay silent throughout. That silence isn’t support, it’s separation. Once a manager voices internal strain publicly, the club’s only rational move is contingency. Which is why new appointment will take “a matter of days rather than weeks”. Media duties skipped after the 2–2 draw wasn’t emotion, it was a relationship already over. From that point, departure wasn’t reactionary. It was procedural.

🚨 EXCL: Enzo Maresca informed Chelsea (twice in late Oct & again mid-Dec after post-Everton comments) he was talking to people associated with Man City about #MCFC manager position if/when vacancy arises. #CFC contract obliged 45yo to do so @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/69334…

Should Chelsea and Enzo Maresca part ways, Liam Rosenior is viewed as the leading internal candidate by BlueCo due to his role at their sister club. Reports highlight him as an "ideal" fit for Chelsea's long-term vision, with strong backing from the sporting directors.

His comments about the board as well as Chelsea’s recent form means the decision is likely already made. Expect names of potential managerial replacements to start surfacing in the coming days.

Just watching Ref Watch and thinking.. Wasn’t VAR supposed to reduce errors? We are getting more and more controversial calls by VAR every week. Referees are just messengers now. VAR is in charge. If there’s no controversy, there’s no Ref Watch..
