Ahead of the maiden international flight from the Gateway International Airport in Ogun State, which will convey over 690 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj, we met with the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards as part of our continued efforts to ensure full operational readiness and compliance with all aviation safety requirements.

Every oil-producing state receives 13% derivation.
The remaining 87% goes into the federation pool, from where it is then distributed across federal, state (including oil producing states), and local governments.
Also, Abia’s oil wells were capped and remained non-productive for nearly two decades starting around 2001. Yet, the federal government continued to pay the state 13% derivation during that period, despite the absence of active production.
Now that I've helped you clarify the numbers, what has Abia State actually used its 13% derivation funds for? Or is it just a national liability?
