This is more about evaluating the line than the matchup, but there are things to like about the matchup Detroit has a high called-strike rate, and so does Ranger Suarez, so getting to the 2-count shouldn’t be rare Once Ranger gets there, the key is the chase-rate. While Ranger Suarez does not force a high whiff rate outside, he does force a high chase-rate. The reason I like that is because Detroit does have a high whiff rate on the chase relative to league average. Main concern here is that his main K-Targets will be at the bottom of the lineup, which he likely only sees twice, but if he can get 3 or 4 against those guys, should make our life easier as the top of the lineup is still around league average with their Split Adjusted K-rates Like if tailing❤️
