I think the fact that the program is being so silent leads me to believe that there is way more to the story that they don’t won’t public. Good luck replacing him. Don’t forget how they treated Coach Calvert!

@LaxPlayground @OutsiderLax I wouldn’t touch this program with a ten foot pole, their fans/parents are some of the worst top to bottom on both girls and boys side. When talking with other programs and refs they are one of the first to be named… The good parents left in that program need to step up and lead

He has ties to a lot of instrumental people in the Midwest and shaped the lives of a lot of people that he was around. He has had a lasting ripple effect, long since his passing.

Scored a lot of goals, but moved to attack. Leary played in every game for a final four team at middie. I would argue Michael Hamilton, Mike Sennet, Mike Birney (a lot of Mikes) could also be included.

@InsiderLax Fair however in that case, Byrne moved to Indiana from the east in middle school and never played a game of IHSLA lacrosse. Seems like blurred lines, just my opinion.

@Mikew27 Gruber is a great coach no doubt. But the majority of those kids on the list came from Carmel Youth system.

@InsiderLax Great coaches, unquestionably. Hard to write the history of Indiana Lacrosse without Gruber on that list. Additionally, you can make a strong argument that Culver is not an "Indiana" team. Amazing program that, asides from geography, shares very little with the state.

@pbrune9 Do your research better, everyone of those “Culver” kids is from Indiana. George, Warrington, Cohen, Hitchcock are all from Carmel. Hallenbeck, Indianapolis. Dilts, Zionsville. Macheca and Pierre Byrne both from South Bend.

@InsiderLax Also in my quick research, Pierre and Will had same amount of points at ND. At least going into their senior season. Make a list how you want, but a culver all start team seems disingenuous to all time state team.

@pbrune9 It was extremely bold move, I bet big on Macheca and Warrington as they are on the early side of their college careers. That being said, they are light years past where Corrigan was coming out of HS.
