for what it's worth i feel like "born in the wrong body" describes my experience a lot more than "i identify as a woman" or whatever. the latter makes it feel like i just decided to transition on a whim one day when really it was consistent daily discomfort that motivated me

I get why people moved away from the whole "born in the wrong body" model of transsexuality and at the same time I think it would be 1000x easier for ciisexuals to understand transness if we went back to that.

the problem with "this ancient slur is for intersex people not trans women" is that most of those words are form time and places where no such distinction was made. in fact a clear distinction between what we understand as intersex and what we understand as trans is very modern
