The NHS really need to give people the option to request that they not be contacted and fucking hounded over a smear test constantly. I’ve verbally told them no every fucking time yet they’re constantly texting me to remind me I should do it. Never gonna happen m88

I'm avoiding it because I was never warned about the side effects of those 'effective treatments'. Informed consent is sadly lacking.

As a campaign for informed consent we are disgusted to see The Vagina Museum offering a pop up vaccination centre and reduced entrance fee in return for getting jabbed. This is not how informed consent works. So disappointing to see.

@MattHancock In other countries like Sweden smear tests are done at home. Personal.y I haven’t seen any good evidence to persuade me to have any more smear tests after being injured by a cervical procedure with zero informed consent but this may be a good move for survivors of sexual violence

Over 31,000 women will be offered kits to carry out smear tests in the privacy & convenience of their own homes in a trial.
Cervical screening is life-saving, so this is a great step forward

@MattHancock As a woman whose cervix is very high up, after having no children, nearly dying from an infection caused by an NHS cervix operation, when nurses have trouble doing it, I somehow think women doing their own smear tests is the most ridiculous notion ever!

Any thoughts on this? Although I don’t do smears personally I know this move will be welcome by survivors of sexual violence.
