@johncutlefish Depends on what "great" means for the individual. But at least you know a cohesive culture when you see 1.

@shreyas So true! In fact, the smarter they are, the better they can talk themselves out of it too.

@MindHealthMoney Most of entrepreneurship is realising that most impossible things are really just freaking hard.

Primarily by dangling promotion carrots for made-up job levels
takanori@takanoriiie

Topic for discussion for @shreyas In a startup if your product is successful, PM’s RSU go up 2-20X every < 18 mos. In a post-ipo Corp that’s unlikely. How do large corps ensure PMs are aligned with product success with enough have skin in the game?

@robertgriker Wow that's amazing. Yea I read somewhere that as babies, our hands are an important medium through which we make sense of the world. Makes sense given that for most of our evolutionary history, the physical environment affects our chances of survival.

@robertgriker Love this. We are naturally born this way, but we sometimes believe we have to typecast ourselves to stand out and fit in. I love the T-shaped framework when it comes to developing skills - develop a broad range of interests, but go deep on 1 competence.

Don’t be one-dimensional Nerds are smart but socially inept Meatheads are strong but intellectually weak These stereotypes are negative for a reason It’s not that being smart or strong are bad It’s when that’s your only good quality

The point is to start acting and learning. Kick up a bunch of dust and learn from the results. A lot of us are brought up to be great planners, which works great for structured problems, but when it comes to something big, ambiguous and uncertain, the only way to learn is to act.

3. Iterate This is where the rubber hits the road. Just go through the list and execute. If it's a list of VCs, do whatever you can to reach out. Same for candidates.

If you are a 1st-time founder, you will inevitably procrastinate on some "painful" and ambiguous problems. Here's a 3-step process to break through that barrier and achieve results.
