@KayFrankR, the Country Representative of @Interpeace_Org in Rwanda emphasised how safe spaces for intergenerational dialogue in the country are driving healing and resilience, empowering youth to become active agents of change and promoters of peace in their communities.

The dialogue that took place on 21 Feb in Paris, focused on Rwanda’s recovery & resilience, urging young Rwandans to promote unity & cohesion, as enablers for resilience post the 1994 genocide, which left consequences on social fabric and mental health.

Youth engagement remains a central pillar of @Interpeace_Org's programming. We were pleased to partner with @Unity_MemoryRw to bring together youth, members of Rwandan diaspora in Europe, to facilitate an open & inclusive intergenerational dialogue on Rwanda’s future.

Interpeace is engaging global partners to connect mine action with peacebuilding. President @Interpeace_Org @ikakoma1 & colleague Menna Waguih met with @theGICHD Director Amb. Privitelli to explore how clearing mines can restore trust & strengthen pathways to lasting peace.

From 281 focus groups across 44 countries to global consultations, the study amplified youth voices & exposed the violence of exclusion. A decade on, @Simpson_YPS shared new UNSC resolutions & growing youth-led movements. He calls for youth leadership to be renewed & localised.

Speakers stressed: women & young people live at the intersections of all UN pillars. ➡️ Their agendas are transversal by design. ➡️ Synergies between WPS & YPS offer a concrete framework for intergenerational, gender-responsive, community-rooted peacebuilding.

How can #WPS & #YPS agendas drive a truly whole-of-system approach to peacebuilding? At the 3rd CSO–UN Dialogue, @UN_Women, @UNDP, @gnwp_gnwp, @Interpeace_Org , @UNYouthAffairs & @UNFPA explored this in a focus session on "WPS and YPS as Drivers of Cross-Pillar Peacebuilding.”

How can the WPS and YPS agendas drive more coherent peacebuilding across the UN system? At #CSODialogueUN we explore how women’s & young people’s leadership, experiences & priorities can unlock deeper cross-pillar integration, from peace to human rights, development & humanitarian action.

@TheGCSP latest Strategic Security Analysis by @Interpeace_Org Comms Advisor @ArnoldoGalvez distills peacebuilding lessons that resonate beyond #Guatemala, offering guidance for other contexts of democratic transitions and fragile democracies.

In 2023, Guatemala faced a political crisis as elites attempted a judicial coup to undermine the presidential election. Indigenous & youth-led mobilisation, backed by civil society & intl support, defended democracy—culminating in the inauguration of Bernardo Arévalo on Jan 2024.
