@valeriekindarji Hello! I might be one of these people and have contacts for others in the Baltics as well, especially from the journalism and defense angle if interested

Starting doctoral fieldwork in #Denmark, #Finland, then #Baltics. I will be interviewing individuals interested in all things #disinfo, digital education and #digitalliteracy – NGO leaders, policymakers, librarians. Can you connect me to anyone? I'd love to chat with them!📚

What intangible things have you learnt from your travels? For example, travel has made me a more patient person (usually).

@cravetraveler Because people can't read and are outraged at any type of perceived inconvenience? But like ..$8 for three years? And those under 18 and over 70 are still free? Sounds fine. You can still last minute travel in those three year chunks!

Why are Americans going crazy over the new ETIAS travel authorization in the EU? Non-Americans have been doing the ESTA for years now and no one complains about that 🤨

@hidden_coconut I 100% left for this reason. Had planned to be "in Europe" into Sept but it was all hot and crowded or just too expensive where it wasn't hot.

Yes, it's summer, but why is everyone is Europe? I would not want to walk around outside, stand in lines, and visit crowded museums. It's too hot for that

@MerielMyers Starting every sentence with “So”. eg So I live in town. So I work in IT. So I go to the pub regularly. So I have a partner. What possible use does the “So” serve? It’s meant to join two thoughts. Like “I enjoy company SO I go to the pub regularly”. Aggravating habit.

@occmillennials Most of my work doesn't rely on specific hours usually. So if I'm researching, writing, analyzing and then delivering something by a certain date, then my time zone doesn't matter.

Well, against my firm plans not to, I took my first Max 8 flight and got through it. My advice is NOT to look up all the things that can go wrong. Unless you're into that. #travel

It was 19 degrees when we left Riga at 11am this morning. Just arrived into Valletta and it’s 40 degrees 🥵

🤔 judging by the houses there I'm pretty sure it has already been "discovered".

Our local Riga bakery must have kidnapped some award winning French bakers! We have been there every morning for the past 5 days to have a croissant. Seriously, I cannot recall ever having such good croissants, even in France 😋😋😋😋

@Intl_elle After having just been to Norway it awesome - but not really a place to relax with all those hikes 😉 We then recently spent 4 days in Tallinn and we're kicking ourselves for not making 10 days. Very chill place - weather is good.

Ok, serious #travel question. If you had a week or so in Europe right now, and are not a fan of hot and had already been to every country (repeats are fine), where would you go to just relax? I'm leaning Norway but...

@Intl_elle Norway is a good option. Always wanted to go to the Faroe Islands! That's even cooler right now.
