Grade 3 went on a Math Scavenger Hunt around the school today! Students searched for real-life examples of polygons—triangles, rectangles, hexagons, and more—hiding in windows, tiles, signs, and furniture . Math is everywhere! #SRCEMarchIsMathMonth

Our Grade 8s were busy today bringing math to life! Students worked on building model houses based on the designs they previously drew, applying their understanding of area and perimeter in a hands-on way. #SRCEMarchIsMathMonth

Grade 2 math in action! ➖📏 Students practiced the “Up Through 10” subtraction strategy using number lines to help break apart numbers and solve problems step by step. Great thinking, Grade 2!

Science Fair Day was a success! 🔬 So many creative projects and great ideas from our students. Thank you to Ms. Shannon for her organization and support, and a big shout-out to our community judges for helping us evaluate the projects.

Grade 3 had fun using Geo boards to create different polygons! Students explained that polygons are closed shapes with straight sides—and identified shapes that are not polygons. Great math thinking today! #SRCEMarchIsMathMonth

🦷✨ Our Pre-Primary class had a special visit from Dr. Swinkles today! Students learned all about brushing and caring for their teeth. We’re so thankful for community members who help our students feel confident about visiting the dentist! 😁🪥

Grade 1 had a great literacy lesson with Ms. Jill today! Students practiced retelling stories and making thoughtful predictions using story details to support their thinking. So proud of their growing confidence as readers!

The Gr 6s have been hard at work learning to write strong newspaper articles. After watching the Canadian men’s Olympic hockey game, they came in this morning ready to report. The room was buzzing as they worked to capture the excitement of the game in true journalist style.

We finally celebrated 100 Days of School! Students dressed up and enjoyed fun activities all centered around the number 100. So proud of how much we’ve grown in 100 days!

Our Primary students have been learning about 3D shapes in math class! They explored shapes like cubes, spheres, cones, and cylinders. Students had fun making 3D figures using play dough and toothpicks, helping them see how shapes are built.

Today in Grade One, we explored different shapes in a fun, hands-on way! Students used toothpicks and mini marshmallows to build 2D and 3D shapes. It was wonderful to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action. Learning is always sweeter when it’s this much fun!

Students have been adding decimals using wipe boards and conferring with each other to share ideas and strategies. They are exploring different ways to solve problems and building confidence as they work through decimal questions together. Great work, Grade 7!

❄️🎨 Bringing the outdoors inside! Our Pre-Primary students had fun exploring snow and ice right in the classroom! Using different colours, they experimented, played, and discovered how winter materials can change—a fun and engaging way to learn through play and exploration.

What a great winter day to get outside! Our Grade 10 PE class took full advantage of the beautiful weather by heading out snowshoeing today. A perfect way to stay active, enjoy the fresh air, and embrace winter learning at its best! #OutdoorLearning #WinterWellness #Grade10PE

At our P–6 assembly, we celebrated students with Rebel Recognition Awards for positive behavior and reading & writing skills, reviewed outdoor expectations, and enjoyed writing shared by Noah and Elizabeth!
