The Investment and Finance Office participated in the 22nd General Assembly of AmCham Türkiye [@TurkeyAmCham], bringing together US Consul General in Istanbul Michael Lally, and leading representatives of US companies. In his remarks, Investment and Finance Office President A. Burak Dağlıoğlu [@aburakdaglioglu] emphasized the growing strategic importance of FDI amid accelerating global economic transformation. Marking the 20th anniversary of the Office, Dağlıoğlu highlighted that Türkiye continues to reinforce its position as a reliable and strategic hub, supported by its market scale, economic resilience, strong infrastructure, connectivity, and long-term predictability. Despite global uncertainties, Türkiye recorded a 12.2percent increase in FDI inflows in 2025, reaching USD 13.1 billion. Investment ties with the United States remain balanced and robust as of 2025, with Türkiye’s investments in the US reaching USD 13.9 billion, while US investments in Türkiye totaled USD 15.9 billion. The meeting offered a timely platform to reflect on the 2025 performance and exchange views on the priorities shaping the year ahead. A major FDI agreement has been signed between Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources [@TCEnerji] and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power [@Acwa_en] to develop solar and wind power plants across the country with a total capacity of 5,000 MW. The first phase includes solar power plants in Sivas and Karaman with a combined capacity of 2,000 MW. Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar [@aBayraktar1] emphasized that the project represents one of the largest FDI projects in Türkiye’s energy sector, aiming to meet rising energy demand and contribute to the country’s target of reaching 120,000 MW of solar and wind energy capacity by 2035.
