@Investor_JPD @MarketPalmer_ You already got to spend money to live somewhere. That’s being consolidated into a mortgage. I don’t consider it an asset. From an investment perspective, if I considered it an asset, I’d have to get rid of it. True ROI after maintenance is less than 5%.

Heard someone explain a mortgage like this: "Think of the interest like rent. That money is gone. But your rent decreases over time. Think of the principal like an investment. That money is yours, and the value increases over time." ...it has its flaws, but I love that line of thinking.
