🔺 A move by Ansarallah to choke off the Bab al-Mandab strait would compound the economic shock already caused by the fighting in the Strait of Hormuz, Iona Craig writes for Drop Site News. 🔸Roughly 25 percent of global container trade normally passes through Bab al-Mandab toward the Suez Canal; the alternative around South Africa adds 10 to 14 days and about $1 million in fuel per round trip. 🔸The threat is sharper now because since March, Saudi Arabia has leaned on its East-West pipeline to bypass Hormuz, exporting crude to Asia from its Red Sea terminal at Yanbu, straight through Bab al-Mandab. 🔸Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has endorsed the threat, warning the US and its allies that if the fighting continues, chokepoints beyond the Strait of Hormuz, including the Red Sea, could also be closed to those countries. 🔗 Drop Site News’ full report: dropsitenews.com/p/yemen-sanaa-…

💢 Ansarallah vows to block Saudi access to Bab al-Mandab after strikes on Sana’a A senior Ansarallah official told Drop Site the group will block Saudi access to the Bab al-Mandab strait, the chokepoint linking the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden, in retaliation for Monday’s strikes on Sana’a airport blamed on Saudi Arabia. Politburo member Mohammed al-Bukhaiti called the strait “a legitimate leverage tool” to enforce a “blockade-for-blockade” equation targeting only countries “participating in the aggression against Yemen.” Leader Abdulmalek al-Houthi went further Thursday, declaring “all Saudi oil facilities and vital installations” targets. It’s unclear if Ansarallah will follow through, but the standoff has opened a dangerous game of brinkmanship, Iona Craig reports for Drop Site News. 🔗 Read her full report: dropsitenews.com/p/yemen-sanaa-…

Let's not forget. The U.S. has form for lying about using Tomahawk missiles, especially when they kill lots of children. This was 2009 under the Obama administration. 41 civilians killed including 21 children. The lie and coverup went on for years.

Here's a U.S. cluster bomb fired by the U.S. Navy into southern Yemen that killed 41 civilians including 21 children and 14 women. It was still killing children three years after it was dropped.

Israel’s targeted strikes on two newspaper offices in Yemen’s capital, which killed 31 journalists and media support workers on Sept. 10, is the second deadliest single attack on the press ever recorded by CPJ, following the 2009 Maguindanao massacre in the Philippines. The attack signals that Israel’s deadly pattern of attacking reporters and newsrooms on the grounds that they publish “terrorist” propaganda has spread firmly across the Middle East. Anas al-Sharif was buried in Gaza City today along with his colleagues. His older brother, Ahmed, wept over his body. Israel brags about killing him--they know no one will hold them to account. "Silence or death" is how Anas characterized Israel's threats. He refused to be silent

I will not speak to foreign media about the killing of Palestinian journalists. I will not sit on your global channels to be part of a segment you’ll forget by tomorrow. To you, we are just a headline — a tragedy to consume, not colleagues to defend. We are being hunted and killed in Gaza while you watch in silence. For two years, your fellow journalists here have been slaughtered. What did you do? Nothing. Or maybe it’s because we are Palestinian journalists — we don’t count as “real” colleagues in your eyes.

🚨Breaking: The US spy plane stationed at RAF Akrotiri was active last night just before ‘Israel’ slaughtered five Al-Jazeera journalists in their tent. Since flight path is hidden, we assume its signal on flight radar may indicate deployment - just 30 mins before the attack.

HELP: Alec spoke to a kind French-speaking couple who gave him a lift to the Buarbreen glacier on Thurs July 31. We believe he may have told them about his planned route. We're trying to find this couple. They were in a camper van and drove him from Buer to the Buer restaurant.

NB: Last successful Houthi attack on commercial vessel (recorded by JMIC) was Oct. 2024. Last attempted attack was an Israeli ship, 18 Nov. 2024. Single incident in Dec. was attempt on supply vessel for US navy. Arguing US/UK strikes are to end Houthi attacks doesn't hold water.

On this day 8 years ago, U.S. Navy SEALs carried out Trump's first military operation abroad. The raid on a Yemeni village killed more than 20 civilians including nine children under the age of 13. Trump called the raid "highly successful" and the U.S. press parroted his lies.

Today, I can't stop thinking of 5-yr-old Sinan. In 2017 Trump's 1st foreign military intervention razed an entire Yemeni village killing dozens including at least 10 children. Sinan saw his mother being gunned down. Trump called the raid "highly successful". 2025 looms ominously.
