Yesterday I gave a lecture for the "Science Dialogue" programme @numato_hs . The first time for me speaking in front of 100ish high school students. Thanks @jsps_sns for this unique opportunity! I was amazed by the hospitality and the questions posed by the students!

On the way to Lyon for the Congress on ionic liquids (COIL). I look forward to meeting my friends and colleagues from all over the world 😊 it really feels like a big family reunion (the good kind).

@ChemBark Strange. When I offer to talk about chemistry for 50 minutes, people suddenly remember an appointment and disappear.

It’s wild how hundreds of teenagers near me will pay thousands of $$$ each for a subscription to chemistry. Like, you pay $5k, and we can talk about chemistry for 50 minutes 3x a week for 15 weeks. At the end, I’ll tell you how good you are and what other subscriptions we sell.

Last year we published an experimental paper, saying it would be really nice to have simulations on the topic. I found out that 20 days later, on the same topic, someone else published a paper with the exact opposite situation. dx.doi.org/10.1039/D1SC06… dx.doi.org/10.1039/D1CP05…

I made my very first battery!* (It's not really a battery but it has lithium inside and technically a lemon battery is also a battery so this is the first time I made something where if I ask someone else what it is they say "a battery, duh")

I took the whole last weekend off to go kayaking at the parc des eaux vives in Huningue. First time on whitewater since well over four years!
