The remains of two fallen Iowa National Guard Soldiers, Staff Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar, 25, of Des Moines and Staff Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown, arrive at the Des Moines International Airport, Dec. 24, 2025.

The dignified transfer ceremony also included the transfer case of Ayad Sakat, a U.S. civilian interpreter.
