US Navy gives previously seized Iranian 'Touska' vessel to Pakistan for repatriation to Iran, according to ABC News. Crew handed over, vessel being 'transferred back' to original owners.

In a brief statement, Iran’s Navy says its forces stopped US warships from entering the Strait of Hormuz “with a firm and swift warning”.


Deputy Prime Minister / Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 held a telephonic conversation late last night with the Foreign Minister of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araqchi @Araghchi. Discussion focused on regional situation and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in the region. Foreign Minister Araghchi appreciated Pakistan for the constructive role and sincere mediation efforts between the parties. 2nd phase stipulates Iran’s return to enrichment after the time limit at 3.6% in accordance with “zero-storage principle”. The plan includes US & Israel refraining from attacking Iran & its allies in exchange for Iran refraining from launching strikes. It rejects dismantling nuclear infrastructure or destroying Iran’s facilities. Lifting sanctions includes the gradual release of frozen funds.

Iran submitted a 14-point proposal to the US outlining a two-stage plan: 1st month: Negotiate a deal to reopen Strait of Hormuz, lift the US naval blockade & end the wars in Iran & Lebanon. 2nd phase: After that deal, begin another month of talks focused on nuclear program, per Axios.

China’s Commerce Ministry issued an injunction to block the US sanctions, which were imposed on 5 Chinese companies accused of buying Iran oil. The ministry named the 5 as Hengli Petrochemical (Dalian) Refinery, Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group, Hebei Xinhai Chemical Group, Shouguang Luqing Petrochemical & Shandong Shengxing Chemical.

The President of the United States has openly described the unlawful seizure of Iranian vessels as “piracy,” brazenly boasting that “we act like pirates.” This was no verbal slip. It was a direct and damning admission of the criminal nature of their actions against international maritime navigation. The international community, UN Member States, and the UN Secretary-General must firmly reject any normalization of such blatant violations of international law.
