The Head of State has powers over the entire State. Whatever bills are passed in Parliament, need his signature to be law. He appoints Judges that adjudicate on judicial matters of the people. He appoints Ministers that preside over the affairs of the people. If enemies attack South Africa, He is the only person who can declare war on our enemies. We want to satisfy ourselves that, as Mr Ramaphosa holds that powerful office of being Head of State, he is not under any foreign, corrupt or criminal network influence. We want to be certain that the President of the country, only advances the national interests and aspirations of South Africans.

Difference between us is they’ll cover for that ambassador whereas we’ll go after BMA if it turns out it was a lie.

Yes South African created a fake document. Bye 👋

They will tell you the world is complicated. They will say this with such confidence, such weariness, such practiced exhaustion with your naivety, that for a moment you will feel embarrassed for not already knowing what they know. The world is complicated. Which means: the sanctions that are starving children are complicated. Which means: the coup that replaced a democracy with a dictatorship had strategic logic you simply aren't equipped to evaluate. Which means: the drone strike that killed the family was a difficult decision made by serious people with information you don't have access to. The complication is always one-directional. It always runs toward excusing the powerful. It never runs toward complicating the story of the people underneath. Their lives are never complicated enough to warrant the same forensic sympathy. They are simple. They are context. They are the complication that required the difficult decision. "The world is complicated" is not a statement about epistemology. It is a class position. It is what power says to people who are about to start asking the right questions.

[NEWS ON THE BORDERS!!!] The Commissioner of the Border Management Authority (BMA), Dr Michael Masiapato has confirmed that the BMA has successfully processed 300 Ghanaians from South Africa to Ghana at OR Tambo International Airport yesterday. Out of the 300, 25 of them came from Lindela holding facility and were brought by the Immigration Inspectorate of the Department of Home Affairs. Further, 275 were brought by the Ghanaian High Commissioner. Following an intense check-in process, the travelers proceeded to BMA immigration wherein about 90% of them were found to be undocumented and the Ghanaian Embassy had to issue them with Emergency Travel Certificates (this is a one-way single-page document which allows a traveller to return to their country of origin). Most of the travelers were found to have overstayed with more than 30 days whilst some overstayed by a year or more. As a result; they were declared undesirable in terms of Sec 30 of the Immigration Act, read regulations 27(3)(c) of the Immigration Regulations.
