Can anyone think of any game sequels that were remarkably WORSE than the original?
Usually the sequel is the original game perfected, and the third, while good, isn't quite as great as the second.

@Supernerd471 Not to mention the popularity of the game was due to its commercials showing off FMVs the average PSX players especially in the west were not into JRPGs those folks were terrible at FF7 unless they bought the "Prima Guide" any one who played that first play through were at 40 hrs

To everyone saying OG is longer than 25 hours, my last 5 casual playthroughs of OG all ended around 21 hours with the quickest being 18.
The game is definitely not as long as you remember playing as a kid.

No. The 7R games are each full size AAA games
Remake is 40 hours
Rebirth is 80 hours
7R3 will likely be 60-100 hrs
