I refused to buy my own car until we bought one for my dad. Growing up, we didn’t have much, but we had parents who sacrificed everything for us. After medical school, while preparing to relocate to the UK, I lived at home for years. I ate their food, saved my money, and planned my next move. They never pressured me, never complained, never made me feel too old to still be under their roof. They just supported me. Meanwhile, my dad had been driving the same red Mercedes for about ten years. Toward the end, it smoked badly when he started it and sometimes broke down on the way to church. They would have to get out and push it. One day my mum mentioned it casually on a phone call. It stayed with me. At the time, I could have bought a car for myself, but it didn’t feel right. So I spoke to my siblings. We decided to pool our resources and surprise him for his birthday. He came home from work, saw the car, and walked around it slowly. “Is this for me?” he kept asking. Later my mum told me he got very emotional. He said no one had ever given him such a gift before. Growing up, my mum used to pray over us: “When you call on one, a thousand will answer.” I didn’t want them to have to call before we answered. Success is not the car. Success is being able to honour the people who carried you when you couldn’t carry yourself. Cc: Toluwani Binutu

@GideonGrowth When some boys on this app try to downplay pregnancy and the toll it takes on a woman, I just shake my head and scroll past. I personally survived the theatre room twice. The first one, I had to go under the knife twice. Congratulations to you and your wife. God did!

The journey to holding our precious blessing was one of the hardest seasons of our lives, God was involved all through . For four long months, my wife lived on a hospital bed. Not visiting. Not observing. Living there. Monitors, medications, endless tests, doctors coming in and out. Every day felt uncertain. Every report came with tension. The bills kept rising, but that wasn’t even the heaviest part. The heaviest part was watching the woman you love grow weak… and not being able to carry the pain for her. There were nights she cried quietly because she was tired tired of the discomfort, tired of the needles, tired of not knowing when it would end. And then came the day that shook me to my core when she suddenly struggled to breathe and had to be rushed to the ICU. Watching them wheel her away while machines beeped around her is a moment I will never forget. I have never felt so helpless. In those moments, all we had was faith. We prayed through fear. We worshipped through tears. We held onto God when it felt like everything else was slipping. And somehow, through every scare, every report, every exhausting day… God sustained her. God sustained us. And now, the joy we cried for has finally arrived. After months of hospital walls, fear-filled nights, and whispered prayers, our precious gift is here. Healthy. Beautiful. A living testimony. If you’ve ever trusted God in a season that tried to break you, then you understand this kind of joy isn’t ordinary. It’s sacred.

I understand people that eat Frame A: Bread and avocado and Frame B: Bread and moi-moi, but you see those that eat the third Frame: Bread and Okpa? They are not normal people

Some people can just make you run mad mehn. This guy came to the pharmacy and said he wanted to buy ear drop for his sister m. I asked what’s wrong and he said her ear is hurting and that he has already used warm red oil but it didn’t work. I asked how cos I didn’t understand and he said he poured it in inside her ear cos that’s what he does when he has the same problem. Excuse me?????

There's this slang I've actually come to like, "me sef no small". Some do see it as the person being proud or boastful but I see it as the person knowing his worth.
