Thoughts on the birthright citizenship case. 1. The court is going to reject the president’s executive authority here & say his interpretation of the 14th amendment is incorrect. 2. In so doing they are going to cite the historical record & say birthright citizenship is the law.

Solution two: for any child born in America, the mother must be legally present for six months in the country before the child’s birth. These are basic, common sense solutions that would eliminate much of the birthright citizenship issues. Congress could and should pass them both

Solution one: Most countries in the world do not allow birthright citizenship by soil. Congress should immediately pass a law restricting birthright citizenship by soil to only those countries that also allow Americans born there to be citizens of their countries too.

President Trump has the power to convene the Senate under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution “on extraordinary Occasions.”
If a department with 260,000 employees (DHS) going unfunded isn’t an “extraordinary occasion”—especially while the Senate is out on a two-week recess during that shutdown with no plans to resolve the impasse beyond “we’ll deal with that in two weeks”—I don’t know what is.

Given his performance in 2024 GOP primaries, I have concerns about DeSantis' ability to campaign outside of Florida.

The San Juan airport in Puerto Rico now has DOZENS of OUTDOOR TENTS set up, just so hundreds of passengers have somewhere to stand while waiting for TSA.
Reports are that people are standing in line at TSA for 5-6 HOURS in Puerto Rico.
