the desire to learn everything is both a gift and a curse. it's a deep hunger that shows how curious you are, but it can leave you feeling lost with nothing fully learned. you want to master every subject, but time keeps moving, and your mind can only hold so much. the old saying, "jack of all trades, master of none," keeps echoing in your head, making you doubt yourself. you try a hundred things but never go deep into any one of them. it's not because you don't care, it's because your interest spreads too wide to focus. still, there's something beautiful about wanting to learn just for the joy of it. but even then, the feeling stays: you want to be great at everything, yet true mastery needs time, focus, and effort, things that get lost when you're pulled in too many directions.

All thanks be to God for completing my Bachelor's degree.
This journey would not have been possible without the support of friends, family, and people like @EbyAkhigbe, whose kindness led to something great.
Thank you!🩷

It's hard to stay focussed, there are just too many interesting topics in machine learning: Gaussian processes, graph machine learning, language models, topological data analysis, generalisation bounds, computer vision, and generative models. And beyond that, there's the entire world of mathematics, statistics, physics, geology, paleontology, biology, medicine, information theory, chemistry, and climate science. Even if I had ten lifetimes, it wouldn't be enough. To be curious is both a blessing and a burden.

@TOEwithCurt Well said. But how about the Münchhausen trilemma? Does it fail to demonstrate the impossibility of proving any truth?
English

@osyndavinci @bobofafrica I no sabi. I'm just saying the video doesn't say there's no energy input. It states what powers the vehicle.
There's electromag waves everywhere. We can only perceive a small portion. The issue harvesting it has been the low energy density. Perhaps his innovation overcomes it.
English

@Ironside_42 @bobofafrica But how much energy does a radio wave actually have?
English

This is ignorance on steroids. Energy can not be created or destroyed. So what powers the vehicle?
A. Ayofe@abdullahayofel
This vehicle will be launched tomorrow February 10th 2025. No fuel, no electricity talk less of charging. It is a self propelled car 🚗. The West is afraid of Africa only the"leaders" of Africa are the challenge.

The burst of DeepSeek V3 has attracted attention from the whole AI community to large-scale MoE models. Concurrently, we have been building Qwen2.5-Max, a large MoE LLM pretrained on massive data and post-trained with curated SFT and RLHF recipes. It achieves competitive performance against the top-tier models, and outcompetes DeepSeek V3 in benchmarks like Arena Hard, LiveBench, LiveCodeBench, GPQA-Diamond.
📖 Blog: qwenlm.github.io/blog/qwen2.5-m…
💬 Qwen Chat: chat.qwenlm.ai (choose Qwen2.5-Max as the model)
⚙️ API: alibabacloud.com/help/en/model-… (check the code snippet in the blog)
💻 HF Demo: huggingface.co/spaces/Qwen/Qw…
In the future, we not only continue the scaling in pretraining, but also invest in the scaling in RL. We hope that Qwen is able to explore the unknown in the near future! 🔥
💗 Thank you for your support during the past year. See you next year!

@Sargon_of_Akkad These questions have other questions that will require justification as well, e.g Q3 would need an objective metric for complexity. And all this will prove is that we were created. The more specific attributes of the creator would be a different set of questions.
English

@Sargon_of_Akkad What would satisfy the burden of proof to me, besides miracles and physical appearance, would be sound justification for the idea that:
- All things that begin to exist require a cause.
- Said cause must be conscious and intelligent.
- Complexity implies conscious design effort.
English

Honestly, this is legitimately the silliest argument atheists make. What would material evidence of transcendence even look like? Can they even explain what would satisfy a burden of proof?

@SteveSkojec @Sargon_of_Akkad You should look up the definition of atheism, buddy.
English

Atheism is as dogmatic as any formal religion, because it posits the unfalsifiable belief that God does not exist. But why is it silly to want some evidence for the existence of a being who makes significant personal demands?
The most your reason can get you to is a kind of half-assed deism. But if God is an indifferent watchmaker, who cares? He certainly wouldn't.
I think the humility to say you don't know what you don't know actually comports with the faith of Christians, who believe faith is a supernatural gift given by God, and not something we can just conjure up.

Hello world🔥🚀!
I am excited to announce the release of YarnGPT, YarnGPT is a family of open source text to speech models built for Nigerian🇳🇬 accented English (YarnGPT) and native languages (YarnGPT-local).
It was built on top of SmolLM2-360M by @huggingface
