Prowling the U10’s football pitches somewhere near you. Moved my son to that team with the 4G Astro pitch near you because more scouts watch them

@TheSecretGrass Love a good presentation night! Especially the sound of other parents jaws hitting the floor when the manager’s son gets a clean sweep of all the awards🥰

One of the most important things to remember about GR Football is never leave before presentation night! Feel free to drop that bomb after the player of the year has been awarded 😉

📷Coach seeking Advice from fellow Coaches. I am a new coach of an under 8 team. I have a team with a wide mix of ability, some are new to the game and others have played a lot of football. How do other coaches manage the amount of playing time they give their players? Do they have a method of tracking minutes on a sheet or do they keep their better players on the pitch and take them off to give other's a chance when the game is lost or won? Ideally, I would like all my players to have as much time on the pitch as possible over the season but I have not found an effective way of tracking and recording the minutes of time played on a pitch. Has anyone any recommendations?

Got to wonder about some folk, U12s football and the opposition manager full on belly laughing about a ball bouncing over our keeper's head with the last kick of the game, player's in tears pretty much and he's pissing himself at him. Proper arsehole behaviour.

20-0 games are soul destroying and can take weeks, or sometimes months to re-build a child’s self esteem so why do we witness it week in week out ! And who benefits from this score line? Read ⤵️ teamgrassroots.co.uk/20-0-really-wh…

@jungrassroots We advertised for kids who didn’t mind letting the manager’s son take all penalties, free kicks, throw-ins, and goal kicks🥰

Is it possible to outfit an entire family of 4 in nothing but Montirex gear for a two week holiday?

@SoccerParenting Make sure your child scores all the goals, takes all the penalties, free kicks, corners and throw ins. It keeps the crazy wife happy😘

If you were giving advice to a grassroots volunteer coach planning to coach their child this coming season, what advice or tips would you give them to help with the parent/child dynamic?

@Teamgrassroots_ Our Wayne has caused carnage countless times by booting the oppositions balls over fences or into hedges during the warm up🥰

Where do all the lost balls actually go??? We start the season with 10, end with 3 and 1 of them is never yours, and you have no idea who's it is or where it's came from. Science can't even explain this mystery.🤣

Any suggestions for holidays or activities? Our Wayne’s been off a week and I’m at breaking point already. Ideally we’d like something really cheap and know someone else who’s going so we could blag them to look after our Wayne while we sit and drink coffee in a nearby Costa.

@laurencorbett80 Take a leaf out of our book and crowd fund all the training gear for your U7’s team, then never take any of it to training. But post loads of videos and pictures on Facebook of your kid using down the park🥰

This may be an unpopular opinion but don’t send me a go fund me link for your kids football team. Buy your own kid a tracksuit!

Grassroots Anonymous Confessions.. My sons team have entered 3 tournaments over the summer. Each time the coach has brought in 3 players from other teams. On all 3 occasions the coach has played these 3 players ahead of his own players (my son included) Is this normal and happens everywhere or is it just my team, it has really annoyed me!!!

🗣️ Parent requesting advice from other parents Hi guys. I wanted to get some advice from other parents who may be in the same boat as I am! I'm currently facing a dilemma of who my son should play for next season and I am struggling to make a decision based on what will benefit him more. He is currently playing in a team with all his classmates from school and pretty much plays every minute of every game being one of the teams strongest players. During the closed season I have taken him to a couple of other teams training sessions just to let him get a feel for what it's like playing without his friends which hasn't phased him one bit. Now one of these teams want to sign him up but can't offer him as much game time as what he is currently getting although I believe the prospects for him are much higher in terms of pathways and opportunities. The question is do I let him carry on playing for his club or do I take him to a club where his long term prospects are much greater? Has anyone else gone through this and if so can I please have your thoughts. Many thanks!

@Secretgrassroo2 I’ve whored our Wayne out and bought every kit for every team he went for a trial at🥰 It’s gonna pay off one day and then I can re-post the club’s stuff on my Facebook and pretend I’m a life long fan too!

If your kid doesn’t support the football club you do, you’ve failed as a parent. Agree?

@Teamgrassroots_ Get 2 gazebo’s for tournaments! Crowd fund the purchase of training gear - poles, cones, hurdles, bazooka goals, parachutes you name it! Then never take any of it to training, but post loads of videos of just your kid using it all on your Facebook🥰

I’m not voting today. I swore I wouldn’t vote for anything again after being accused of nobbling the player’s player of the year votes in favour of our Wayne back when he was in U7’s. (Shushhhh, I did)

I love that break in tournaments when you’ve finished the group stage then you have to wait over an hour before your first knock-out game. Ample opportunity for your feral child to upset the opposition by volleying a ball into a packed gazebo🥰
