A big thank you to Mrs Frost who had her first experience of Forest School today, we hope she enjoyed it 👍🏻

Baking bananas with chocolate buttons was definitely a team thing from working together to gather wood, get the fire going, helping each other with preparing their bananas and cooking them. @MrGarley @Year6IJS @year3ijs @Year4IJS

Well it might have been hot across the country, we were perfectly chilled at Forest School. Where else can you sit in a tree and read a book! @MrGarley @Year6IJS @Year4IJS @year3ijs

We were joined by Mrs Richardson’s daughter this week so we had a little sketching master class. @MrGarley @Year6IJS @year3ijs @Year4IJS

When having whittled your stick it becomes a magic wand 🪄 @MrGarley @Year6IJS @year3ijs @Year4IJS

The natural order of knife craft, start on a potato peeler, then move up to using a knife then learn to carve your own butter knife. @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS @Year6IJS

They definitely had to get their thinking caps on this week as they tried to solve the problem of The Farmer, The Chicken, The Fox and The Grain. @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS @Year6IJS

Making nature bracelets, exploring texture and colour. @MrGarley @year3ijs

Climbing a tree is always guaranteed to put a smile on your face. @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS

They loved having a go at making their own fire lighters this week using pencil shavings (thank you Mrs Godfrey), Vaseline and a little bit of cotton wool. They worked brilliantly! @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS

Last Friday at Forest school was all about tree climbing and camp fires, especially the camp fire. @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS @Year6IJS

This week on the tree was all about pushing yourself to go that little bit higher or just see if you could hang upside down! @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS @Year6IJS

Learning to use a knife, but first we start with a potato peeler in order to master the basic skills. @MrGarley @year3ijs @Year4IJS @Year6IJS
