Last night wrapped up the high school basketball season on WFTM. Just finished my 17th season. I’m blessed to be able to do something I love. I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude tonight as I leave Rupp. I’m so grateful for all of you who listen, the many businesses and politicians who sponsor our coverage and for my teammates (JT Teegarden and Terry Underwood). The kind comments, texts, tweets and message mean so much to each of us. I’m grateful to the coaches who work with us during the season. Thanks to our board ops all season Brandis and Russell! Thanks to Drew Spangler for running the board this week, editing interviews, helping with rotations and behind the scenes stuff to get us ready. Thank you for listening to WFTM!

My son was telling me how unbelievably much the Florida athletic department made off the boys basketball championship in merchandise sales. They’re even going to have a UF cigar to commemorate. Reminds me when I was at McLean County. My assistant & I bought 2 dozen cigars.

Coach Root and our players have been great to me… and I know will represent our program well this weekend. Hopefully tomorrow, the DRs give me a plan of attack to help me get back to what I love doing- coaching basketball and representing Centre Basketball. Go Colonels!!

I will be rooting for @gavinroot & @Centre_Bball tonight as I will be missing my 1st game since 1989. I’ve been dealing with a foot/knee issue since NOV 19 that isn’t getting better. Been on the sideline in a boot & crutches. Today, I was pleased to finally get an MRI on both…

@IrvineDon I didn’t coach this year. I had surgery this summer to have part of my kidney removed. I’m just now getting back on my feet!

I am overwhelmed by the amount of friends and colleagues who have taken the time to respond to the ECS news segment. One good thing about social media is that it allows me to see and hear how old friends are doing. I am so blessed that God has allowed me to stay active in
