Polygon's tabletop coverage is kinda good. Having played Gloomhaven RPG in its larval form and then closer to release, it's very strong. The rad combat - Gloomhaven, plus strong progression and skill interactions - might ruin you for other RPGs, though. polygon.com/tabletop-games…

@Caffeingasm Card picks are set in stone, but the unselected card can still be selected on future level ups.

@IsaacChildres hey mate, some conflict between Gloomhaven and JoTL players in my group. On character level up, is the new card you pick supposed to be then set in stone and the other card essentially unavailable? Or does the unselected card go into the pool of available cards?

@Stexe Love it. I think the best thing about visiting the Penny Arcade offices was just seeing all the artwork everywhere. It was like being in a Penny Arcade museum.

@IsaacChildres Yeah, I loved the original AcqInc stuff. So much so I donated a large sum of money to win Gabe's 2nd painting ever, that of Jim Darkmagic. Always wanted to donate a lot to charity and own a piece of "famous" art and I got to do both that day all those years ago! =)

It's a new thing! We're putting out a licensed version of Gloomholdin' - a tiny, simpler, solo version of Gloomhaven.

Last call on me being on GenCon panels! Whether it’s for education or entertainment, I’ve been on big stages for performing TTRPG’s/playing board games + panels about community management, marketing, freelancing, content creation and social media! Let’s collaborate!

In a very predictable twist of fate, that board game turned into an RPG! It was a lot of hard work, but being in that studio and getting to enjoy myself with such a wonderful cast, throwing a solstice eve parade in pursuit of rare Winkies(TM) - it was a nice payoff to that work.

I remember vividly way back when listening to those original AcqInc podcasts and being inspired to jump back into D&D, which I hadn't played since high school. And those D&D4E games eventually inspired me to design the board game Gloomhaven.
