This movie was trash, and I'm tired of people pretending it wasn't.

‘Sinners’ could become one of the most-awarded films in #Oscars history this Sunday. After receiving a record-breaking 16 nominations, the film has the possibility of breaking the record of winning more than 11 trophies in one night.

I’m not here to cape for strip clubs. But if the @NBA is suddenly so concerned about protecting people and women, then maybe start with the things you actually control. Pay your cheerleaders a better wage. Stop flooding every broadcast with gambling ads that can ruin people financially. Stop promoting alcohol like it’s part of the game itself.
You can’t wrap the league in morality when it’s convenient and ignore the systems that actually harm people every single night on your own platform. If the NBA truly cared about protecting people and women, fair pay and responsible promotion would be the first place to start, not drawing the line at strip clubs while everything else gets a pass.
Selective Hypocrisy is comedy. 🤷🏾♂️

@IsaacHayes3 Now if I used the billboards as some kind of metric don’t you think I’d be grossly underestimating your father’s catalog?

@ThaHumbleGod This is still a fact. That album is the bar for albums. lol,
That has nothing to do with 50 Cent being able to play 20 songs versus TI.
Still an L. 🤷🏾♂️

The almost complete takeover of legacy media and social platforms is happening in real time.
Netflix steps back. Skydance moves in on Paramount. Massive consolidation reshapes Warner Brothers. CBS, CNN, Paramount, and the future of TikTok all sitting inside a tightening circle of power and political influence.
When a handful of loyalists sit near the top of the media food chain, narratives shift. Culture shifts. What people see and hear shifts.
This is no longer about preference. The demand for new social apps and independent platforms has gone from optional to mandatory.
Ownership matters. Infrastructure matters. The future of digital conversation is being decided right now.

The Memphis-Houston connection in hip-hop traces back to Isaac Hayes' funk, influencing DJ Screw's chopped and screwed sound. This Black American cultural lineage is undeniable, showing how funk evolved into hip-hop before reaching New York. #HipHopHistory #Funk #DJScrew

Grateful to see @la_reid say he wishes he never sold LaFace Records. That kind of honesty matters.
For so long we have been told that the goal is to build and then sell. And yes, building and exiting is a strategy. But when your business is rooted in culture, especially Black culture, fashion, music, food, film, you have to be mindful of who you are selling to and what happens to that culture after you no longer control it.
I have been saying this for years.
If I had to pinpoint the moment the industry truly saw L.A. as a threat, it was when he signed Pink.
Up until then, LaFace had mastered breaking Black urban artists. Then he signs a white artist who sells four million records and proves his ear was never limited to one lane.
His vision extended from R&B into Pop and Rock and much more. And every signing after that only reinforced how expansive his taste and intellect really are.
When you control culture, and you can translate it across audiences, that is power.
Thank you L.A. for saying it out loud. Ownership matters. Cultural stewardship matters. And who we sell to matters.

Today we honor our friend and brother Jesse Jackson.
Reverend Jackson and Isaac Hayes shared a deep respect for one another and a common commitment to Black empowerment.
Whether standing together for civil rights; supporting economic initiatives, or advocating for ownership and opportunity, they believed progress required both political power and cultural strength.
We celebrate a life that never stopped fighting for our people.
Rest well Jesse. ♥️🪽
