@IsaacPunts My JV football coach was a 4year starting long snapper D2 and got NFL looks as a long snapper. Best I’ve ever seen. Like you said fastballs to the chest every single time, 6’4 250 and sub-5 40 couldn’t even get more than a tryout

Long snapper may be the hardest of them all, by the time you’re getting to the NFL all the best long snappers are indiscernible from each other. They all throw perfect laces have good feet and can block. I genuinely think it just takes a great agent and greater luck

@WoopahTroopahYT 100% why older guys never leave, coaches trust em, kickers love em, how much better could a new guy actually be if this guy is already throwing a perfect ball every time. Even if the other guy COULD throw it faster, 1% more consistent, tighter spiral, why rock the boat?

@LandonTengwall Yeah that’s the luck portion, hoping there’s a guy retiring or a young guy not panning out. Doesn’t happen every year and they’ll have to sift through you and 5 guys that snap identical to each other

@IsaacPunts On top of that it’s just timing. Most long snappers have their spot for 10+ years. You just gotta be lucky that there even is a long snapping spot that year you come out

@TheJD128 Really hard to say, and since I’m not informed enough on the specific challenges for each position I won’t say one. there’s a chance that punter is the easiest but still just insanely improbable to make it.

@bknorris9 I think the NFL has a good mix of the best 40-50 punters in the world. So maybe not exactly the best 32 but I think 25-50 is really hard to tell between. I think 1-15 are all in the league or end up in the league

@IsaacPunts serious question - how many guys are legit NFL level, and just didn’t get a shot with a team? i feel like the drop off isn’t as severe as it is at say QB. like there has to be at least 80 guys out there who could punt on Sundays.
