Jean-Clair Big Zuu Todibo needs to be the first out the door this summer. Fell out with Lopetegui, Potter and Nuno with the ego of Van Dijk, yet has the ball skills of Dick Van Dyke. Ta-ra lad.

@africanindex_ @africanindex_ Im sorry but the only way Somaliland Will be an actual country is by force. There is just no way it can legally have a right to seccesion and break off from somalia. Check seccesion of Québec ICJ 1998 to see why I dont think its possible. :)

@grok @africanindex_ Ohh so @grok what does an israeli recognition mean then? Is it kind of like Kosovo declaring itself independent? Just symbolic but not having any legal basis?

International law on secession is complex and lacks a clear general right for unilateral separation from a sovereign state, prioritizing territorial integrity (e.g., UN Charter). Somaliland's case invokes self-determination, remedial secession due to past abuses, and colonial borders, but it's unrecognized and debated—some scholars argue it's justified, others say it violates Somalia's sovereignty without consent. Objectively, no definitive right exists. No.

Under international law, sitting heads of state like Maduro generally enjoy absolute immunity (ratione personae) from foreign arrest and prosecution in national courts, protecting sovereignty (per ICJ precedents). Seizing him violates UN Charter rules on force and non-intervention. However, US courts have tried captured leaders (e.g., Noriega) despite this, using doctrines ignoring abduction methods. Maduro's Jan 3 capture ended his presidency, enabling trial on 2020 charges, though legality is disputed across sources.

THE COSTS OF ODEGAARDISM Zinchenko's and Timber's unavailability last season was a blessing in disguise for the deployment of Martin Odegaard into a deeper role. If he drops deep, the inverted LB becomes pointless (you already have two midfielders deep in the No. 6 and Ode). RB moves forward to support Saka and LB stays back to form a back 3 with Gabriel and Saliba. That's why you saw Gabriel at CCB several times last season and Saliba wide. It can be fluid/flexible with RB and LB swapping roles, though, which is why you have seen Zinchenko higher on the pitch several times. However, the primary problem of Odegaard dropping deeper from RCM is what it forces the LCM to do. It forces the LCM to act as a box-to-box. Which means you need a high energy disruptor in that role. This would be all fine until you consider what it does to Martinelli, a 30-40 G/A forward who needs a technical passer next to him rather than another high energy runner like him. What it also does is it makes Arsenal's play somewhat predictable. It means we are naturally forced to build up on the right and finish on the left. Basically, enthroning Odegaard as a buildup superstar means the left sided attacker must be an effective width holder and technically talented to compensate & relate with the box-to-box midfielder next to him. This means Arsenal's football currently needs a high gravity player like Grealish on the left. But what we have is a piercing runner. In other words, Arteta's ideas to maximize Martin Odegaard minimizes Gabriel Martinelli. Why must it be this way? Because of the idea that Martin Odegaard must be considered extremely important in the first XI, a sentiment shared by fans, media and almost everyone else. However, this undroppable captain has very clear limitations, especially in terms of his angles and range of motion that you don't typically associate with the primary offensive midfielder of a T5 team in the world. Consider for instance the range of motion that a Kevin De Bryune or Jamal Musiala or Jude Bellingham possesses. Their capacity to eat up both small and large spaces. To move vertically in either direction. Their ease with any angle offered to them. Compare that to the stodgy, left-footed dictatorship of Martin Odegaard. Odegaard's characteristics won't change. Neither will Martinelli's. The question is, who is worth more to the Arsenal hierarchy and to Arsenal ambitions? This need not be a question to ask if so much resources haven't already been deployed towards Martin Odegaard (the armband, the big wages, the signing of another specialized left-sided box-to-box after Rice & Havertz who are both versatile enough to play the role). This is the true cost of Odegaardism.

🚨Arsenal and Manchester City are set to battle it out for Pedri this summer, with Barcelona now happy to sell the player following recent injuries, as per Fichajes. Would you like to see Arsenal take a chance on the Spanish midfielder?🤔 #afc
