@rcarnold1 Trading Pelech to make space isn’t the move. He’s elite at what he does. Trade Pelech as part of a package for a massive RD / RW upgrade, that’s a move I can get behind. We can’t dump our best D just because the GM made a few bonehead cap clogging moves & Pelech’s an injury risk

@JerWillDun Disparity in points doesn't matter. Useless comparison because conferences aren't apples to apples. Mammoth had a +28 goal differential. Anaheim is a deep team top to bottom coached by Quenneville, one of the best ever.
There's no case against Marner. Leafs GM failed them.

@IsleStotle You left out the part where I said he's playing against teams that would've finished 3rd last in both eastern conference divisions. Here are his 2024-25 stats against the bottom 3 and top 3 teams. He can't compete at the same level. Look at the dispartiy between conferences.

Tough for Barzy. Would've liked to see him build further confidence internationally with Celebrini, etc.
Hopefully pulling out gives him enough time to heal right and get a proper summer of training under his belt.

This is a kid who skipped his high school graduation to visit and hang out with kids at a trauma center in Buffalo before the 2025 #NHL Combine. Not that awards mean much -- everyone does great work -- but Schaefer will win the King Clancy at some point over his career.
