On Sunday, Darius Manta was the only boxer representing Islington Boxing Club over the weekend as he competed on the All Stars ABC open show held at their gym on Harrow Road, W10.
After losing the opening round, Darius worked his way back into the contest during the second round before taking the final round to secure a hard-fought 3-2 split decision victory. 🔴⚪️🥊

On Thursday daytime, London Boxing competed against 1860 Munich BC in the now annual team match between the regional association and the Bavarian club.
The annual Vatertagsboxen (Father’s Day Boxing) is a huge traditional Frühschoppen (morning pint) event hosted by the TSV 1860 Munich boxing team during the annual Truderinger Festwoche. There were approximately 1,700 spectators in attendance, all of whom were extremely respectful and friendly throughout the event.
Three boxers from Islington Boxing Club were selected to represent a strong London team.
Aleigha Reeves received a late call-up and competed in her first 3x3 contest, coming away with a points victory.
Dylan Gibson returned to winning ways jabbing his way to a points victory against an older opponent.
Nicholas Dorsett competed in the final bout of the day, narrowly losing to a more experienced opponent in a contest that was later awarded Bout of the Day.
Overall, London came away with a 6-5 victory. 🏴🥊

On Sunday 10th May, Islington Boxing Club had two boxers compete on the Earlsfield ABC show.
• Faizal Kabando – Won via unanimous decision
• James Denniss – Lost via a 4-1 split decision
It was an extremely busy week of in-ring action for the club, with boxers competing across multiple shows throughout the week.
Well done to all involved! 🔴⚪️🥊

On Friday 8th May, Islington Boxing Club had two boxers compete on the Fairbairn ABC dinner show held at The Colosseum.
Nawir Ahmed lost via a 3-2 split decision in a rematch from the recent Uxbridge ABC show, where Ahmed had previously won via a 3-2 split. We felt Nawir was unfortunate not to get the decision on this occasion after another close contest.
‘Little Mo’ Shah Hussein returned to compete in IBC colours and came away with a 3-2 split decision victory. Mo is pictured alongside Mik Basi. 🔴⚪️🥊

Unfortunately, Josiah Ettee lost out on the recent Lion ABC open show on Sunday 3rd May after his contest was stopped in Round 3.
Josiah made a strong start to the bout, forcing a standing 8 count on his opponent in the opening round. The second round was more competitive, with Josiah receiving a standing 8 count and a warning himself, whilst also forcing another standing 8 count on his opponent.
By the final round, the pace of the contest had taken its toll and, after receiving another warning, the referee waved the bout off.
Although the result did not go his way, Josiah will take plenty of valuable lessons and experience from the contest, which will only help his development moving forward.
On that same weekend in the National 1/4 Finals of the Schools Championships, Cassian Campbell and Michael Clark both lost on points decisions against Southern Counties counterparts in Ashford.

Nicholas Dorsett stepped in at late notice to compete on the Repton ABC dinner show last night, held at the Royal National Hotel.
Having been asked at midday to box and then be at the venue for 6pm after completing a 10-hour work shift. Nicholas showed real commitment by taking on an experienced elite opponent.
Connor Flanning (Army) took the opening round, Nicholas came back strong to win the second, and the final round was closely contested and could have gone either way. Flanning was awarded the bout via a 3–2 split decision.
A top performance from Nicholas, who can hold his head high especially having taken the fight under those circumstances.
