Last year, we created a GoFundMe for the desperate need to replace gloves, punch bags, groin guards, head guards, pads, etc.
So far, with the amazing support of our IBC Family & supporters, we were able to replace our gloves, head guards, groin guards and pads at the start of 2026.
Our goal now is to raise funds to replace our much needed punch bags!
If you can, any donation is greatly appreciated and we would love your support - please feel free to share, also!

‼️THIS SUNDAY‼️
This Sunday (15th February), Islington Boxing Club will be holding our home show @ Haverstock School, NW3 2BQ. The boxing will start @ 1pm.
Many of our Junior Competitive boxers (10-16 years old) will be showcasing their skills in amateur boxing bouts as well as our Senior Boxers (17-35 years old).
For those in our Infants, Junior Academy, Junior Progression and Junior Competitive classes, it is great to watch their fellow teammates and to see those who may have progressed through the Infants, Junior Academy/Progression Classes and are now moving onto the next stage of competition. This will be an opportunity for your child(ren) who have shown an interest in boxing at Islington Boxing Club to give them the motivation and insight to progress to the next levels. Many parents also enjoy watching the young children box.
We have a special offer to club members of the Infants, Junior Academy, Junior Progression and Junior Competitive classes of 1x adult and 1x child ticket for the total of £20.00 (a saving of £10.00). These tickets must be pre-purchased by 12pm on Saturday 14th February in order to qualify for this special offer; to purchase the tickets, please contact Millie on either:
Email: islingtonboxingclub@hotmail.com
Tel: 07500828151
Please come along and support your club!

YOU WIN OR YOU LEARN.
Last weekend we had several Islington boxers competing in the London Intermediate & Youth Championships on Saturday and Sunday @ Springwest Academy, Feltham.
These were the first lot of boxers competing in 2026 after the Christmas break.
It wasn’t the set of results we hoped for, but championships remind us of a simple truth: you must earn victories — no one is ever entitled to win.
SATURDAY – SEMI-FINALS RESULTS
•Dominic Marton – Won via Unanimous Decision
•Troy O’Connor – Lost via Unanimous Decision
•Rico Santos – Lost 4–0
•Shadrach Olubanjo (U57.5kg, Intermediate) – Lost via a 3–2 Split decision
•Kingsley Frizzell (U65kg, Intermediate) – Won via Unanimous Decision
•Dylan Gibson (U70kg, Youth) – Lost via 3–2 Split
•Toks Rowaiye defeated club-mate Lemar Topper (both U60kg, Intermediate) via a 3–2 Split decision
•Joseph Burton (U62.5kg, Intermediate) - Lost via a 3–2 Split decision
•Mohammed Mohammed (U80kg, Intermediate) – Lost via Unanimous Decision
SUNDAY – LONDON FINALS RESULTS
•Dominic Marton – Lost via Unanimous Decision
•Toks Rowaiye – Lost via Unanimous Decision
•Kingsley Frizzell – Lost via 4–1 Split Decision
These experiences are part of the journey, you take it on the chin, lick your wounds, learn from it, and get straight back to work!
No shortcuts. No guarantees.

Repost from @englandboxingofficial
Dylan falls to a unanimous decision result following a scrappy bout against a tall and difficult Czechian 🦁🏴
Commiserations Dylan, rest up and we go again 👊

Islington Boxing Club would like to wish the best of sporting luck to our very own, Dylan Gibson who has travelled to Germany for the European Championships representing England 🏴
He has worked extremely hard to get to become an England international boxer for years and we hope that this is the first of many tournaments to come.
Best of luck DyBo’s and to all of the @englandboxingofficial team

London Calling 📞
Southern Counties hosted London in a team match at the historic York Hall, Bethnal Green, with Islington Boxing Club proudly fielding 3️⃣ London representatives.
🥊 Nawir Ahmed
Competing for the first time this season — and at a higher weight than his previous outings — Nawir impressed with control, composure and clean work to earn a unanimous decision victory. He got some ring rust off and will be aiming to be active in the new year.
🥊 Ilya Kyrch
Continuing his strong run of form, Ilya also boxed to a unanimous decision win and was later awarded ‘Best London Boxer of the Day’ — a well-deserved accolade and testament to his activity and consistency.
🥊 Charlie Corbel
Closing out for IBC, Charlie started sharply in his 3x3s contest, but his opponent’s experience and depth proved the difference as the bout progressed, resulting in a unanimous decision loss. A valuable learning experience that will only benefit him as he steps up further in the new year.
Brilliant to see the London squads active and competing regularly. All the bouts on Saturday were competitive which resulted in a 6-6 draw in the team match. Thanks to Ben Harnsworth for the opportunity for the London boxers and amateur boxing in general 🔴⚪️🥊

Michael Clark competed on the Far Cotton ABC open show on Friday night in Northampton.
He had boxed the night before on the Uxbridge show (a win via a 4-1 split decision). Michael won via unanimous decision against a boxer from the host club earning his second winners trophy in as many nights. 🏆🏆
A brilliant back-to-back performance showing consistency, sharpness and composure.
Well done Michael 🔴⚪️🥊

On Thursday night, 7️⃣ IBC boxers stepped through the ropes on the Uxbridge ABC Open Show @ Hayes Working Men’s Club.
🥊 Heidi Brennan
Opened the evening in a skills bout, showing continued development and sharp improvements with each outing.
🥊 Michael Clark
Boxed confidently against a home boxer, securing a 4–1 split-decision victory. We felt he edged the 1st and 3rd rounds through clean, controlled work.
🥊 Hayden Paul-Grant (aka Long Hair Twin)
Hayden also faced a home boxer and delivered a strong performance to win unanimously — a solid showing and a step forward.
🥊 Rico Santos
In his first 3x3s contest, Rico met a more experienced opponent and dropped a 4–1 split decision. A valuable learning experience with lots to build from.
🥊 Hanif El-Hafadi
Despite conceding weight, Hanif boxed intelligently and dominated throughout to win unanimously. Now 5-0, he has been extremely active over the last 8 weeks and continues to progress rapidly.
🥊 Jude “The Dude” Kanor
Club boxer, Jude won via RSC1. Jude was up against it with a strong opponent in front of him who was winning the exchanges, Jude landed a clean jab that suddenly floored opponent and the contest was waved off.
🥊 Kingsley Frizzell
Closed the night for IBC with a RSC3 victory against an opponent from Tiger Bay ABC, travelling from Cardiff, Wales 🏴 . Kingsley showed real development and composure throughout his 3x3 contest.
A massive well done to all our boxers, and a big thank you to @uxbabc for the opportunity to compete.

London Calling! 📞🇬🇧
Last night, a London Boxing team took on Dublin County Boxing at the Powerday Foundation Dinner Show — hosted at the Royal National Hotel, Russell Square (a venue we know very well!).
Both Shadrach Olubanjo (57kg) and Nicholas Dorsett (75kg) were matched over 3×3’s… but they didn’t need all that time.
Shadrach sealed the win via RSC2, while Nicholas finished his bout emphatically with an RSC1.
Their performances helped secure a dominant 5–1 victory for the London team.
Well done lads! 🔴⚪️🥊
