Burkina Faso demonstrating fiscal discipline, whilst catering for the needs of its people: 🇧🇫 is repaying 75% of its domestic public debt to revive its economy. Prime Minister Rimtalba Ouédraogo announced the payment of 345.86 billion CFA francs in the first quarter of 2025. Fisal discipline, industrialisation and social programs, are not mutually exclusive.

🇧🇫How Burkina Faso is using its Gold to finance industrialisation and improve the living conditions of its citizens, and embarrassing failed African leaders in the process. Many of Burkina Faso's detractors come on my timeline to ask where Faso is getting the money from. Some say it is from Russia, trying to destabilise Africa, and undermine democracy. But now they have their answer. Whilst other leaders send their nation's resources to the West and leave their people to suffer, Faso is putting its gold to good effect.

Australia mining company Resolute , has been very compliant in their dealings with Mali, and when their tax irregularities were detected, and subsequent arrest Warrants executed, they willingly paid the $160 Million they owed Mali, and the matter was considered settled. Barrick Gold is a different kettle of Fish altogether. They have a CEO, Mark Bristow, who is a descendent of European Settlers in what they call South Africa, and was born in that nation. As a beneficiary of Apartheid, Bristow was groomed to see Africans as slaves, whose laws are not worthy of respect, and whose people are not entitled to tell him what to do, as a white privileged man. He forgot that Mali is not South Africa, that the culture of subjugating Africans in South Africa, steal their resources, building his wealth out of the misery of black South Africans, will not work in the Sahel. He has decided to purse a fight with Mali in the hope that the privileges he enjoyed in South Africa, will see him through in Mali. But to his misfortune, he miscalculated the tenacity of the Malian people, and failed to appreciate that in this battle, there can only be one winner, and that will not be Barrick Gold. Mali has already won. It has issued an arrest Warrant for Bristow, and in the worst case Scenario, Mali could sell the 3 tonnes Gold and cover the cost of the debt. The company has already lost 3%, of its shares, and likely to lose more, the longer this matter drags on. In the last financial year, Mali gained more from his minerals, than it ever did in any tax year in its entire history. Malian are no longer prepared to accept the exploitative conditions that was allowed do persist during the 30 years existence of Barrick Gold in their nation. Mali has already secured the biggest lithium plant in Africa, nations are bending over backwards to do Business with Mali, and therefore not a single drop of tears will lost from the departure of Barrick.

6. It became a concern when their financial proposal was subjected to sensitivity analysis to understand how realistically the proposed revenue streams earmarked could be realized. 7. I refer you to read the sensitivity analysis document attached. You will see all the revenue points Margins wanted to use to perpetrate their grand looting scheme. 8. They proposed to charge $50 dollars for the e-gate. Again, I refer you to the sensitivity report here. So, my dear journalist, understand that I, as a law maker, will not just grant interviews to spew things that aren’t factual. The facts are what I have shared. The attached documents clearly bear out my assertions. If I am lying, then officers in MOF are also the biggest scammers. But I know how diligent and efficient our men and women in the civil service are. We shall reset our country and work harder to bring joy to our dear citizens. Ghana deserves better. Good morning.

Below are the cold facts about the raging E-gates scandal. 1. Margins Group submitted a proposal to MOF on a project they call Homegrown Border Security at a total cost of circa $296 million. 2. This proposal was reviewed and watered down from MOF after technical officers started punching holes into the whole scheme. 3. Margins Group, sensing trouble over the deal, revised their cost to $147 million. Refer to the memo from MOF on above. 4. With the cost reduced to $147 million, MOF sought to pass the transaction ostensibly because they were under pressure from the Vice President's office to pass the deal. 5. Remember, the Vice President had already gone public to make an announcement about some e-gate in the offing.

The govt of Ghana says that after struggling to get private investors to fund & toll Tema Motorway revamp & 2 other road segments, it has decided to use public money. But not directly. Instead, it will create some opaque shell company/SPV thru GIIF & bring in private investors 🤔

Seriously? Govt of Ghana set a deadline of February 7th to present a revised prospectus for the domestic debt exchange & promised to share it on 2nd February. Today is the 3rd. Next working day is the 6th. And the prospectus is still not out for investors to REVIEW! 🤔🤦🏽‍♂️
Bright Simons@BBSimons

Building on recent traction, Ghana's Finance Ministry makes another creative move to push towards that coveted 80% creditor participation rate and assure maximum debt relief. Investors await the promised new prospectus with bated breath. #Drama
