Meet Gunjan Kumar, a Bihar JEE student who lost 70% of his vision and battled with a collapsed lung and remained on bed rest for nearly 3 months during the preparation. But now this guy has cleared JEE and is set to join IIT Delhi for B.Tech Computer Science. Gunjan went to Kota for JEE preparation in 2023, but unfortunately his journey took an unexpected turn in October 2025 when he was diagnosed with pneumothorax, a condition in which the lung collapses. So this illness forced him to stay on complete bed rest for nearly 3 months, preventing him from attending classes. At that critical time, his mother decided that her son's dream would not be interrupted. His mother is a homemaker with a B.Ed. degree. She began attending online classes and carefully prepared notes from every lecture so that Gunjan could continue studying. Finally, with the support of his mother, he cleared JEE Main with a 91.8 percentile, and in JEE Advanced he got AIR 50 under the PWD OBC category and got admission to IIT Delhi B.Tech Computer Science.
