🧵 Turned two college filmmakers' passion into a $2K MRR business in their first 30 days. Everyone told them to "build a portfolio first." They did something different instead. After building businesses to $5M ARR, here's the truth about turning skills into profit: 👇

Common brand misconceptions: • It's just a logo • Only for big companies • Too expensive • Built instantly • Fully company-controlled • Same as corporate identity • One-time effort A brand is the emotional connection and reputation in customers' minds. It's an ongoing journey for all businesses

I was reading this "When it comes to thinking, our Brains are surprisingly slow" - discovermagazine.com It took me by surprise, I thought we had super minds but we just don't know how to use them. it appears we have super minds when it comes to information gossip - we collect info at 10 mil bits/sec, But when it comes to cognitive processing - making sense of the info - our minds work at a mere 10 bits/sec. Shocking! which means information overload is real (it was always real for me), but the following are our tortoise mind dreams: - Multitasking - No Decision fatigue - Correct Perception of time - learning and skill acquisition in a few days - No Social interactions overwhelm Now, it all makes sense. My takeaway from all of this is that since I'm collecting this massive amount of information all day and have a very limited capacity to make sense of it, Growth has always been a matter of prioritization and repetition.

Skills, habits, and beliefs bridge where you are and where you want to be. Set goals, identify gaps, and build habits to gain skills. Reflect on beliefs: Do they help or hinder? Do this consistently and watch the gap to your future self shrink.

I read "Think and Grow Rich" 18 years ago, and from what I remember, I liked the idea that anybody can acquire riches; the book was practical. You know it comes from a place of knowledge and experience. Then I was researching something today that led me to read part of the book again; it's as if I'm reading it for the first time. I highly recommend you go back and reread some of the books you believe influenced your life; the level of maturity and experience you were reading with at the time prevented you from seeing things that you can see now more clearly. They are usually hidden gems that can help you reinvent yourself one more time.

Always approach team meetings focused on a challenge, with a reflective mindset, and ask: "What didn’t go well, and how can we do better in the future?" There's no use blaming others; Almost everything can be addressed through a process.
