@GregoFPS @Meerko_ Your minimum framerate might be slightly better than your current CPU but this game is limited by your graphics card 99.99% of the time. You can test it out yourself either with Afterburner + RTSS as an overlay or HWINFO64 on your second monitor.

@Meerko_ See I'm sort of inclined to think its the cpu as well. The tournament pc's ran really well and they had i9's and 2070's I believe. The 2070's aren't much crazier than the 1080 except it uses a newer memory type. So either that gpu memory is making a difference or its cpu.

I don't know what to upgrade to get better frames in apex. Currently running an i7 8700, gtx 1080, 16gb 3200mhz ram. Would I benefit more from rebuilding to an i9 or just going with a 2070 or 2080? Not in the market for both atm.

@moeporkdiet @T1Kurt Anything that runs AVX instructions will lower your CPU's clock speed to whatever your offset is. So if you OC your 8700k to 5ghz with a -2 AVX offset any program that utilizes AVX will lower your clockspeed to 4.8ghz. Anything else will run at 5ghz.

PSA! To fix SOME of the crashes in Apex Legends, go into your bios and set your AVX offset to 2, and if you're still crashing try 3. This won't fix all of them but will lower the amount substantially. If you don't know how to do it, google is your friend.

I was feeling a little bummed not having any 1st place finishes for Apex since I went back to streaming.. the consistency was there but no trophies. It feels SO good to finally have one & having it done at LAN 💙
