@Onepeg @ItsPatguy The whole point of an extraction shooter is that its PvEvP. Once you have a PvE only mode its no longer an extraction shooter.

As much as I advocate for cut-throat games because I personally find them more entertaining, and although I disagree with the design decision, the reality is gainfully employed people losing their asses every night isn't fun and people want to feel meaningful progress.

Marathon being advertised as a PvP game with hardcore encounters and raids, and now turning into a PvE focused game with PvP put on the back burner is ass. Me and my 2 friends who play won’t be playing during season 2 now. Ruining the whole game due to whiners on twitter

id Software confirmed this is concept art for a new level called “Hell’s Core”. This is 100% a reference to Dante’s Inferno, with hell’s core being frozen and referred to as the Ninth Circle of Hell. I really love that, similar to TAG’s Blood Swamps, we’re getting new areas of Hell that are unique from the blood, fire and brimstone aesthetic were used to. HYPE!

I hate how toxic the announcement of a PvE mode has become. Like, for fuck sake we have ZERO official info on it and the community is already at each other's throats. Begging y'all to keep an open mind and wait for more info before slaughtering each other omfg

Why risk anything in cryo when you can get to compiler for free? The only people left will be the hardcore spawn rushing kind, until dedicated pvp is added that is

@GrimPhilosopher @AirwingMarine My friends and I bought a game advertised as an extraction shooter with pvevp lobbies. I didn’t buy a pve mode game where everyone chooses their level of PvP because they’re bad at it. They’re going to lose players as much as they gain them with this,

@ItsPatguy @AirwingMarine Why you even care for my sense of fun? Yea i played 1k hours in Tarkov PvE and bought almost everything they have to offer, and im enjoying Tarkov PvE more then any other game on the market. And numbers tells it all, Tarkov PvE is around 40% of overall player base.

Predicting anything here is just a fools errand. I don't like that they are adding a PvE mode. I believe it will take away from the overall game and detract from what is special about Marathon. That being said, I'm not in charge, I'm not the one paying for it, and I'm not going to stop playing it cause it adds a PvE mode. But the saying "A game for everyone is a game for no one" is ringing pretty loud right now...

@GrimPhilosopher @AirwingMarine Why did you buy a competitive PvP game if you don’t like PvP? What is the goal here? To complain online that PvP is too hard in a PvP game, so the devs add a PvE mode that undermines the whole purpose of the genre?

@ItsPatguy @AirwingMarine Yea, im bad at PvP and to old for this shit, having full time job and family i can afford being few hours online in a day maximum. But the main thing is, me, and many others like me will play different games if there will be no PvE, but if game have PvE we pay like everyone else.
