Anupam Tiwari breaks down how he actually selects stocks 27 years in markets. One framework for picking small-caps. 🧵 1/ His 5-factor model for every investment: 1️⃣ Management Quality — integrity + competence 2️⃣ Business Quality — ROE, cash flows, moat 3️⃣ Business Cycle 4️⃣ Valuation 5️⃣ Macro Factors Miss one, and the thesis breaks. 2/ The uncomfortable truth about small-caps: 75-80% of small-caps NEVER become mid or large-caps. Most of what you're buying is a lottery ticket dressed as a stock pick. Conviction + selectivity isn't optional — it's survival. 3/ Where he sees the "premiumization" opportunity: 🚗 Premium autos/EVs 🏥 Hospitals Both riding the same wave — rising per capita income, changing consumer expectations. Not a trade, a decade-long theme. 4/ Time horizons matter more than most investors admit: 📌 Small caps → 10+ years 📌 Mid caps → 7-10 years 📌 Multi/Flexi-cap → 5-7 years Wrong horizon = wrong stock, even if the pick was right. 5/ His sharpest line: returns come from conviction, not just knowledge. But conviction without self-doubt = overconfidence. His discipline: question your own thesis every single day. 6/ — India's growth story is real, but execution decides who wins. Portfolios aren't a collection of stocks. They're a system. Manage them like one. Not investment advice. Do your own research. #SmallCaps #StockMarketIndia #ValueInvesting #WealthCreation

🔋 The battery is 35-40% of an EV's cost. That's not a component, that's the whole game. India's EV battery supply chain — a breakdown 🧵 1/ LFP vs NMC — the tech battle LFP is winning mass-market EVs: cheaper, safer, longer cycle life. NMC stays premium — higher energy density, higher cost. Think LFP = Tata/mass EVs, NMC = luxury/performance. 2/ China owns 80-90% of global cell + material manufacturing. Brutal dominance. But US FEOC rules (tax credit compliance) are forcing a "China+1" shift — and India is positioning itself as the alternative. This is the real opportunity. 3/ India's listed players across the battery chain: ⚡ LFP Precursor: Sudeep Pharma ⚡ Cathode Active Material: Himadri Specialty, GFCL EV ⚡ Cathode Current Collector: Hindalco, Shyam Metalics ⚡ Anode Active Material: Himadri, HEG, GFCL, Graphite India 4/ ⚡ Electrolyte: Neogen Chemicals (fully integrated play), Tatva Chintan, Anupam Rasayan ⚡ Additives/CNTs: Acutaas, Himadri Specialty 12 components. Multiple listed names at each node. This is a full ecosystem being built, not one stock. 5/ Bottom line: India is still China-dependent today. But the capex being deployed across these names suggests the ground is shifting — slowly, but for real. Watch capacity ramp-ups, not just order wins. #EV

Domestic sales hit an all-time high of 2,00,123 units. 2️⃣ Hyundai Motor India → 75,360 units, up 25.4% YoY — highest-ever monthly sales in company history. 3️⃣ Hero MotoCorp → 5,33,416 total units (+18.6% YoY), domestic alone at 5,01,403 (+21.6%). Suzuki Motorcycle's spare parts revenue also hit an all-time high of ₹102.9 Cr. 4️⃣ Mahindra Auto → 1,03,860 total vehicles (+26% YoY), SUVs alone at 60,048 units (+20%). 5️⃣ Tata Motors → CV domestic sales at 15,435 units, up 25% YoY. 6️⃣ Escorts Kubota → tractor volumes +22% YoY — rural demand is very much in the party too. 7️⃣ SML Mahindra → total volume +12% YoY. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝟳𝟱𝟬 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 — 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 India's middle class isn't a modern phenomenon — it's a 75-year-long fight against its own economic policy. Here's how we got here 🧵 𝟭 | 𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟳-𝟭𝟵𝟱𝟬𝘀: 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 ▪️ Post-independence India inherited mass poverty and near-universal illiteracy. ▪️ The response wasn't just economic policy — it was institution-building. That's not growth, that's stagnation with a pulse. 𝟯 | 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟭: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 ▪️ India literally pledged gold reserves to the IMF to survive a balance-of-payments crisis. ▪️ Dr. Manmohan Singh's reforms dismantled the licence system and opened the economy — growth rates doubled almost immediately. 𝟰 | 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟮-𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 ▪️ Middle class crossed 600M by 2012. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗜 : Co-founder Pratyush laid out Sarvam's pivot from pure research to a full-stack AI platform. This is India trying to build its own AI stack, not rent someone else's 🧵 1️⃣ From lab to platform Indus is Sarvam's shift toward productivity, customer support and content-gen apps — think a homegrown answer to Microsoft Copilot, aimed squarely at Indian enterprises. 2️⃣ Who they're actually selling to Range spans india developers and digital-native startups all the way to large banks and financial institutions — the kind of customers who need infra that's local, secure, and compliant by default. 3️⃣ "Sovereign AI" is the whole thesis Sarvam is betting India needs an AI stack it actually owns — local data centers, local GPUs — so sensitive sectors like banking and government aren't dependent on foreign providers for critical infrastructure. 4️⃣ The ambition is bigger than one product Stated goal: control a majority share of AI tokens consumed in India. That's not "compete," that's "own the base layer." 5️⃣ Money question, answered honestly $300M raised so far, but frontier AI is brutally capital-intensive — more capital raises are coming for data centers, GPUs, and research partnerships. No pretending this gets cheap. 6️⃣ Hardware side-quest: Kaz glasses An enterprise wearable device, quietly in production in Chennai. More details soon — but it signals Sarvam isn't staying software-only. This is India's sovereign-AI argument in practice — not just building models, but owning the compute, the data centers, and the distribution layer so critical sectors aren't dependent on foreign AI infra. #SarvamAI #Indus #SovereignAI #AI

🚨 Nippon India Small Cap Fund — Fund tracks small-cap alpha aggressively — Here's what stands out: Top Holdings 1️⃣ Acme Solar Holdings (0.32% → 1.19% AUM, share count up 3.2x) 🏭 Integrated renewable energy player — solar, wind, storage, hybrid/FDRE projects, 8,070 MW contracted portfolio. 📈 Stock hit an all-time high of ₹398 in early July, up ~64% YTD, after commissioning a new BESS project in Rajasthan and closing a ₹2,800 Cr QIP. 🎯 High-conviction re-rating bet — the fund clearly added aggressively into strength rather than booking profits. 2️⃣ HDFC Bank (1.77% → 2.03% AUM, +2.2M shares added) 🏦 India's largest private bank by assets — steady compounder, rarely a "small-cap" style bet but often the ballast position in a small-cap fund. 🎯 Defensive anchor sizing up — a hedge inside an otherwise high-beta portfolio. 3️⃣ Apar Industries (1.55% → 1.71% AUM, added on falling share count) 🛠️ Conductors, cables and transformer oils — a direct power T&D infra proxy. 🎯 Classic capex-cycle beneficiary the fund is leaning further into. 4️⃣ Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) and TD Power Systems — both trimmed (1.93%→1.82% and 1.71%→1.53% respectively) 📉 Modest profit booking after a strong run in the power-equipment pack. 🎯 Rotation signal — capital moving from the "old power capex" names into the newer renewable-storage story (Acme Solar). The playbook: This isn't a defensive small-cap fund — it's actively rotating out of legacy power-equipment names and doubling down on renewable energy/storage momentum, while keeping a large-cap bank as ballast. #NipponIndiaSmallCap #MutualFunds #SmallCapInvesting #AcmeSolar

🚨 Prof. Kartik Muralidharan , Harvard Economist on India's biggest structural challenge: • 🇮🇳 Govt isn't short of spending—it's short of accountability. • 🎯 Millions treat government jobs as a "lottery," spending their best years preparing instead of building skills. • 📉 80% of educated youth unemployment is linked to this exam-preparation trap. • 💰 Lower-level government jobs are often overpaid, while top leadership is underpaid and overstretched. • 🏛️ India is over-centralized. Local communities have little power to reward performance or punish absenteeism. • 🔄 The solution? Decentralization, local accountability, and practicum-based hiring instead of exam-only recruitment. The biggest challenge isn't just unemployment. It's a system that rewards waiting over working, memorization over skills, and centralization over accountability. Structural reforms—not short-term fixes—will determine India's next decade.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗠𝗜𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 Most people don't realise a Loan Against Mutual Funds (LAMF) isn't an EMI product at all — and that difference alone can save you real money. Quick breakdown 🧵 1️⃣ It's a credit line, not a term loan No fixed monthly instalment covering principal + interest. You pay ONLY interest on what you've withdrawn — principal can be repaid anytime within 3 years, in any amount. 2️⃣ The formula is simple Monthly Interest = Outstanding × Annual Rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100 At 9.99-10.5% p.a.: ₹1L withdrawn = ~₹833/month interest. That's it. No principal chunk. 3️⃣ Partial repayment = instant interest cut Borrow ₹1L in Jan (₹833/mo interest), repay ₹50k in Feb → from March your interest halves to ~₹416/mo. No prepayment penalty either. 4️⃣ It's revolving, not one-shot Repay what you owe, your credit limit resets. Zero interest when nothing's outstanding — you only pay for what you actually use, when you use it. 5️⃣ The real comparison that matters: On ₹1L borrowed — LAMF: ~₹833/mo (interest only) Personal loan (16%): ~₹1,333/mo interest + EMI principal Credit card: ₹3,000-3,500/mo (interest only, way higher rate) 6️⃣ The underrated bit No hard CIBIL check, no foreclosure charges, and your pledged mutual funds keep earning returns while the loan is live — you're not selling your compounding to fund a short-term need. For short-term liquidity needs, LAMF beats personal loans and credit cards on cost AND flexibility — the catch is discipline, since there's no forced principal repayment nagging you every month. #LAMF #PersonalFinance #MutualFunds Educational only. Not investment/credit advice — read the loan agreement before applying.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 ₹𝟭𝟱𝟲 𝗖𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗸 India's power distribution companies still lose ~20-22% of electricity to theft, billing gaps and ageing wires. Govt wants that down to 10% by 2030. One 40-year-old execution player is sitting right in the middle of the fix — G V Electricals. Results: FY26 revenue ₹156.41 Cr | EBITDA more than 2x YoY | PAT up 124.5% YoY. Classic operating leverage kicking in. What they actually do: Utilities hand them a tender, GV deploys workforce, fixes/maintains the distribution network — feeders, substations, meters — and bills periodically. Boring, essential, sticky work. 76% of revenue is O&M (recurring), and 88% comes from repeat clients — this isn't a one-tender-at-a-time business, it's an annuity dressed as an EPC company. Their Data Centre & IT Infra segment jumped from ₹2.1 Cr to ₹10.37 Cr in one year — a 5x move that pushed it into their 4th-largest customer bucket, riding the data-center power buildout theme. Order book: ₹553.70 Cr as of June'26 — 3.5x FY26 revenue, across 34 live projects. That's multi-year visibility most small-caps this size don't have. Clientele that matters: Tata Power, Adani Power, BSES, Reliance Energy, CESC, L&T, ABB, Siemens — reference-driven business where these logos actually help win the next tender. This is a low-margin, execution-heavy, tender-dependent business — growth depends on continuing to win against competition and scaling manpower without diluting quality. Data-center revenue is exciting but still just ~6.6% of the pie — not yet the main story. A legacy T&D execution shop riding two tailwinds at once — RDSS (₹3.03 lakh Cr govt outlay to cut AT&C losses) and India's data-center power boom — with an order book that's already 3.5x sales.
