it breaks my heart to know that there are so many beautiful souls out there questioning their worth because someone they loved made them feel unlovable

One day they're all in. Responding fast. Making plans. Making you feel like you matter. Next day? Gone. Cold. One-word replies. Eyes somewhere else. And you sit there running the math. What changed? What did I do? Was it something I said? Nothing changed. That's the point. This is just who they are. The warm phases aren't kindness. They're bait. They keep you close enough to stay but uncertain enough to never fully relax. You don't get to be comfortable around them. You get to be alert. You start editing yourself. Checking your tone. Picking the right moment. Managing their temperature like it's your job. It's not your job. Consistent people exist. They're not flashy. They don't leave you guessing. They just show up, same energy, same investment, Tuesday or Saturday, good mood or bad. No one talks about how attractive that actually is. Hot and cold people drain you quietly. You won't notice until you're tired and you don't even know why. Cut them off or cut your losses. Either way, stop letting someone's inconsistency become your full-time problem.
