@ItsSilindile @LunnieDlamini 50%? U don't own the car, the car owns u. Using rent-free living to justify a massive debt isn't affording, it's trading your future financial freedom for a shiny piece of metal. Ur 1 unexpected expense away from financial ruin. 4k is a necessity, 12-15k is a choice

@JohnDoe_int @LunnieDlamini It's not a flex. You are belittling someone because they don't spend on accommodation to suit your narritive to dumb them down. Point is people can afford to have things they want with their salaries. Not everyone is struggling and a car is a necessity even if it takes 50%.

@ItsSilindile @LunnieDlamini So the flex is being a 'dependent' with a nice car? Using a parent's asset to fund a liability doesn't make the math any better. It just means you're comfortable living a lifestyle you haven't actually earned yet. 20% is the standard for a reason

@LunnieDlamini No one earning that amount still lives at home. Unless ur parents are sick. U can't justify spending more than a third of ur salary on a liability. That's why the golden standard is 20% or one fifth. Kids, medical aid? No wonder most high earners are broke
