THREAD: WORLD SICKLE CELL DAY 🕊️ A Tribute to My Brother — A Sickle Cell Warrior We Lost on August 3, 2019 #SickleCell This thread is for my brother, whose courage, resilience, and strength in the face of Sickle Cell Disease continue to inspire me every day. A story of love, pain, hope, and a life that mattered. My words today to the world may be disturbing. I try to smile, but tears still fall. The day I lost respect for death remains vivid in my memory. Like a dream, I constantly remind myself that death is a part of life. I try to push it out of my mind as a human being, but I know it is something we will all face someday. That dark and tragic evening was unbearably cold. My world was turned upside down. Confusion was everywhere. Mum was at the hospital with a few SFI women who had heard the shocking news. Baby sister was rushing over with some fruits she had bought from the market for you.
