@lalthelegopener @tonigoinham There were def problems with the story writing, but the way I saw that letter was the fatui doing their usual diplomatic bs. After all, Pantalone said he was trying to maintain relations between snezhnaya and Sumeru, so a hastily written letter feels in line with that goal

@ivybonbons yeah, it legit made me sad. I felt dread when the disease was causing people to turn on each other, but all sense of urgency was lost due to how lighthearted some of the dialogue was. At some point I stopped feeling suspense and it just felt like some regular quest.

let me add on real quick:
10 people DIED within the first half hour!!! who knows how many more people died!!! they SHOWED US how the evacuation was harming people too, but i guess THOUSANDS of people moving BACK to Sumeru went without a hiccup somehow???????

The first hour, the intro with Collei, Nahida being in danger, everyone trying to figure it out, evacuations, Apep's aid, Pantalone showing up!! The stakes are horribly high!!! And then it just....Drops that tension. The first hour SO genuinely had me hooked!!

I do still have hope hoyo will show the consequences in the future, but it just didn’t feel super substantial to me during the quest itself
