Seattle, WA - appalling antisemitic graffiti was discovered at Herzl-Net Tamid Confregation, just across the street from the Jewish Community Center (JCC). Among the phrases were “Shame on Israel”, “Shame”, and “Stop Killing”. This is nothing short of pure and grotesque antisemitism that must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

It’s reasonable of you to ask this and I agree the article I provided is more about Jewish people reacting to the fact that Israel is attempting to claim that it speaks for all Jews (which is antisemitic). This is a clear fact but it would take time and energy I don’t have right now to establish why that is, based on many points of reference, especially recent speeches by Israeli officials. If this is not something you’re familiar with or understand, we’ll have to leave it here. I invite you to learn out it and consider for yourself

Comparing Black men to monkeys in order to degrade and dehumanize them is something western colonial cultures have done for centuries. To me, it matters to observe for how these patterns continue. White supremacy is written so deeply into the culture, especially American culture. I find it worth noticing these potential patterns, like seen in the product above, that mimic nearly every theme of the old racist licorice cigarettes. I don’t assume this was intentional. But culture and racial bias often affect people’s actions in ways that aren’t deliberate on their part. By the exact same logic, Israel is also claiming that they represent all Jews in their actions. Would you agree that Israel is also being antisemitic in this way?

They did not “Free Palestine” but they did get arrested. Despite the stunt, the Macy's parade continued where concluded at the company's flagship store on Herald Square.

@playboyjon @StopAntisemites I don’t know why this particular person/people did it That doesn’t mean that it makes sense to default to calling it antisemitism. This is especially true because there is a very real and compelling cause that the graffiti explicitly identifies.
