Dlatego „zaniepokojenie” Polski i Francji jest jak najbardziej uzasadnione. Jeżeli Berlin naprawdę chce wspomóc europejskie bezpieczeństwo, niech umożliwi państwom wschodniej flanki NATO działanie na większą skalę - np. poprze trwałe wyłączenie wydatków na obronność i rozwój zbrojeniówki z unijnego limitu zadłużenia, przesunięcie wojsk amerykańskich bliżej realnego zagrożenia a przede wszystkim skupi się na budowie czysto defensywnych zdolności operacyjnych Bundeswehry. Ktoś powie, że to nierealne, ale niegdyś RFN była w stanie zrezygnować z marki niemieckiej żeby uspokoić obawy innych państw europejskich. Tym bardziej, w sprawach twardego bezpieczeństwa, Niemcy powinni okazywać więcej pokory.
